James Franco opens up about his sexuality
Actor James Franco has openly discussed his sexuality, after extensive rumours.
The actor – who played gay rights activist Scott Smith in Oscar-winning film Milk – also plays ‘ex-gay’ activist Michael Glatze in upcoming film I Am Michael.
In this month’s issue of Four Two Nine magazine, the eccentric star held a conversation with himself in which he questioned his own sexuality.
He asked himself: “Are you f***ing gay or what?”
Franco replied: “Well, I like to think that I’m gay in my art and straight in my life.
“Although, I’m also gay in my life up to the point of intercourse, and then you could say I’m straight.
“So I guess it depends on how you define gay. If it means whom you have sex with, I guess I’m straight.
“In the twenties and thirties, they used to define homosexuality by how you acted and not by whom you slept with.
“Sailors would f*** guys all the time, but as long as they behaved in masculine ways, they weren’t considered gay.”
Franco last year starred in controversial Sony Pictures film The Interview, which focuses on a plot to assassinate North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.
A number of cuts were made to the final release, removing parts of a scene confirming the country’s supreme leader engaged in a bisexual orgy with James Franco’s character and four women.
The film’s final script – which leaked online after the cyber-attack – stated of the scene: “Dave and Kim are in a bed naked, with the four women. They’re all playing MORTAL KOMBAT”.
