Madonna is set to join gay hookup app Grindr, to chat to a few lucky fans.

The gay icon is taking part in a Valentine’s Day competition on the app, to get users to recreate the artwork for her new album, Rebel Heart.

She will sign on to the app later this week to chat with five winners – but despite the platform, it isn’t specified exactly how steamy her messages will be.

A Grindr spokesman said: “Who can forget their very first time? The queen of pop really wants to touch you for the very first time on Grindr.

“This Valentine’s Day, Grindr is offering their users a chance to speak with Madonna as part of a contest conceived by the material girl herself.

“That’s right, Madonna is teaming up with Grindr to chat with five lucky users this month via in-app messaging.

The contest is open to US users until February 14.

Last year, Madonna blasted Vladimir Putin’s “blatant intolerance of gay rights”, and revealed that she received death threats for performing in Russia.

She said: “What I realised when I went to Russia, and saw what was going on with Pussy Riot, and what was going on with the gay community, was how lucky I was and am to live in a country where I can speak my mind.

“It’s time for the rest of the world to be as brave as Pussy Riot, to stand up against people like President Putin that do not respect human rights, and perpetuate oppression, discrimination, and injustice of any kind.

“We all have a moral obligation to stand up for anyone who’s being persecuted, whether it’s down the street from us, or on the other side of the world.”
