Perez Hilton: Living with Katie Hopkins is like the AIDS crisis
Gossip blogger Perez Hilton has compared living with Katie Hopkins to the AIDS crisis.
The gay reality star is currently taking part in Celebrity Big Brother, alongside the notorious controversy-monger.
Hilton upset other housemates today, with an ill-judged comparison between his situation, and the 1980s AIDS crisis which claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.
He complained about his ongoing spat with Katie Hopkins and Nadia Sawalha.
He said: “I have been traumatised. By the experience. By living with so many people who feel extremely negative thoughts about me.
“By Katie Hopkins, who told Nadia in front of many other people ‘We should isolate him’.”
He compared it to being “diagnosed with AIDS in the early 80s”, saying: “She was trying to get everybody to be afraid of me and ostracise me”.
RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage took offence to the comments, saying: “Having lost 20 plus friends to AIDS, that is a bit extreme!”
The gossip blogger previously faked a walkout of the Big Brother house, as part of a secret task.
Two weeks ago Michelle Visage claimed that Hilton is “setting the LGBT community back” half a century and that he is “an embarrassment”.
The scenes will air on Celebrity Big Brother tonight.
