New Zealand singer Ladyhawke has tied the knot with actress Madeleine Sami.

The ‘Paris is Burning’ singer – real name Pip Brown – wed the actress in her hometown of Masterton, New Zealand on Friday, in an extravagant private ceremony.

A source told the New Zealand Herald: “There’ll be over 200 people there. It’s going to be quite big and lots of celebs [around].”

Though there are no photographs of the event, it is thought the singer eschewed a traditional wedding dress in favour of a suit.

The source added: “She’ll be wearing the trousers, apparently. She never wears dresses.”

The first same-sex weddings in New Zealand took place in August 2013, and hundreds of couples have married to date.

Nearly a quarter of all weddings in New Zealand are for Australians – who do not have equal marriage in their own country.

The country’s parliament burst into song when equal marriage was passed by a landslide vote, back in April 2013.

In May last year, New Zealand slightly relaxed its ban on gay men giving blood, changing the deferral period from 5 years to 12 months following sexual activity.
