Ever wanted to date Tom Daley? This could be your chance

A competition has been launched with a very special prize – a date with Tom Daley and Dustin Lance Black.

The Olympic diver and his Milk screenwriter boyfriend – who took their relationship public at the start of this year – are offering the double date as part of a competition for the Human Rights Campaign in the US, and the Brain Tumour Charity in the UK.

The pair are promising to take a lucky winner on “the greatest double date ever” – with entries from just $10 (£6).

They said: “You’ll spend the morning poolside with Lance cheering on Tom at diving practice.

“Next, you’ll explore the city, from ice skating at Somerset House to High Tea at The Ritz.

“After sightseeing, a professional styling session will have you looking smashing for our dinner at one of the best restaurants in town.

“And to wrap up the night? We’ll show you some of our favourite local spots.”

Explaining his choice of charity, Tom Daley said: “The first charity that we would like to raise some money for is the Brain Tumour Charity.

“In 2011 I lost my dad to a brain tumour and it was one of the worst experiences any family can through.

“And for me it’s really important to raise as much money as possible to try and find a cure for this horrible disease.”

Dustin Lance Black added: “Maybe a year after Tom lost his father I lost my gay big brother who lived in Virginia and I’d made him a promise before he left us that we’d see equality in a state that he loved.

“So that’s why we’re giving my half to the human rights campaign which is fighting for equality for LGBT people in Virginia but also in every state across the country and around the world, because we’ve made tremendous progress but a lot more still needs to be done.”

For those who don’t want to leave it up to chance, you can also just purchase lunch with them – but it comes with a hefty $25,000 (£15,800) price tag.
