Girls creator Lena Dunham has cancelled multiple book signings in Europe, after “disgusting” allegations that she abused her sister as a child.

The actress wrote in her recent autobiography Not That Kind of Girl that she once examined her little sister’s vagina out of ‘curiosity’, and bribed her for affection.

The extract was picked up by multiple news outlets last week, after Truth in Revolt ran it with the claim that she had ‘sexually abused’ her sister.

She tweeted: “The right wing news story that I molested my little sister isn’t just LOL- it’s really fucking upsetting and disgusting.

“I told a story about being a weird 7 year old. I bet you have some too, old men, that I’d rather not hear. And yes, this is a rage spiral.

“And by the way, if you were a little kid and never looked at another little kid’s vagina, well, congrats to you.”

She has since cancelled two book signings, writing yesterday: “To my Belgian readers, so very sorry to miss the Antwerp Book Fair today but I can’t wait to come back and eat fries with you. Much love.”

She added today: “German readers: I am deeply sorry to miss tomorrow’s event in Berlin. I am so grateful for your energy and support. Mit viele liebe.”

The star has previously pledged to never marry unless gay people can do so in all 50 US states.
