Education Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities this week attended the second annual PinkNews Awards and presented an award to the naked rowers.

The Warwick Rowers produce a naked calendar, from which proceeds go to anti-bullying causes.

“My office tried to show me their website on the Department for Education computers, but then we found that their website was blocked. When they subsequently showed me on their iPhones, I quickly saw why. They have won a PinkNews Award for their full monty fundraising efforts, but I have to report that they are wearing their clothes tonight here in Speaker’s House.”

The Community Group of the Year was given jointly to the Warwick Rowers, and the Human Dignity Trust, as votes were tied.

Mrs Morgan was also heckled as she gave a speech at the awards saying she had changed her mind on same-sex marriage, and that she was “delighted” that some 14,000 gay and lesbian couples have already married.
