Julia Gasper, who called for PinkNews readers to be sectioned, flops in council by-election

Julia Gasper, who called for PinkNews readers to be sectioned under the Mental Health Act, has come last in an Oxford council by-election.

Dr Gasper, who stood down as UKIP Oxford’s Chairperson in January last year, recently claimed that her former party is “plagued” with “grotesque” transsexuals.

She was standing today in a council by-election in Quarry and Risinghurst for the English Democrats, for a vacancy created by Labour councillor Laurence Baxter stepping down over work commitments.

However, Dr Gasper came dead last in the election, with just 43 votes – well short of Labour candidate Chewe Munkonge’s 782.

Lib Dem Roz Smith came second with 615 votes, Tory candidate Katharine Harborne third with 222 votes, and the Green Party’s Liz Taylor fourth with 186 votes.

The vote, carried out on the same day as the Scottish Independence Referendum, attracted a turnout of 38%.

Dr Gasper last stood for the English Democrats in May’s European Elections, where the party managed to scrape just 0.76% of the vote in the region, winning just 17,771 votes.

She had previously called for PinkNews readers to be sectionedcalled for Grindr to be banned, and claimed Daniel Radcliffe and a “queer mafia” were responsible for “victimising” former Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich into stepping down.

She recently claimed that a “PinkNews mafia” caused the actor Rupert Everett to seek police protection. She wrote: “They [PinkNews] even bombard other homosexuals such as Rupert Everett with hate-mail and death-threats when he says anything against their agenda. He recently had to seek police protection because the Pink News mafia had put him on its hit-list.”

Dr Gasper, who sits on Risinghurst and Sandhills Parish Council, has also claimed that World AIDS Day “congratulates” people for “spreading this disease”said she hoped “guilt” killed “queer gangsters” over same-sex marriageand described Pink News as a “vile rabid dog” of “homosexual bullies”.
