West Wing star Allison Janney has said that she wouldn’t want to kiss a lesbian.

The actress, who recently won two Emmy awards for her roles in sitcom Mom and drama Masters of Sex, was responding to a question about kissing other women on the lips on TBS talk show Conan.

She said: “[Mom co-star Anna Faris] and I did share a kiss.

“We had to do so much press for the start of Mom, and I said ‘let’s just be silly’.

“Now it’s become my thing, because at one of the pre-Emmy parties I ran into Cloris Leachman, and I’m such a huge fan of hers. I just went in to kiss her, and we had kind of a huge make-out session.

“I’m not going to do that with men who are married or women who are gay. I will only make out with women who are straight or men who are gay.

“That’s less threatening.”

Ms Janney appeared for seven seasons on political drama The West Wing as CG Cregg.
