Marcus Collins is to co-host a media festival for the black and Asian LGBT community, organisers have announced.

Fusion, by Queer Media, is designed to celebrate all LGBT ethnic minority communication.

The festival, which is taking place in Manchester in October, will feature a creative schedule of conversations with LGBT media professionals interspersed with LGBT themed short films.

Along with Marcus Collins, Scott Roberts, Political Editor of PinkNews, freelance sports journalist Jessica Creighton, and Aashi Gahlot, editor-in-chief and founder of website shorlgbtq.com, will be introducing the films and interviewing the guests.

Queer Media Director Jamie Starboisky said: “We want to touch people’s lives by telling empowering and inspirational stories through different mediums.

“Ultimately our aim is to promote understanding in society through improving  visibility and representation of LGBT people, characters and stories in the media.”

The event is being run in partnership with UK Black Pride and coincides with Black History Month.

Fusion is being held at the Compass Room at The Lowry, Manchester, on Sunday 19 October, from 12pm to 8pm.
