US: Ohio mayors sign up to support same-sex marriage

Over a dozen Ohio mayors have signed a national pledge in favour of same-sex marriage.

Almost 500 mayors from 44 US states have signed the Freedom to Marry campaign ‘Mayors for Marriage’.

According to the statement, same-sex marriage helps cities to build economically, and to build a place for families.

The list of mayors signed up to the scheme is below.

The first ever mayor in the US state of Mississippi recently declared his support for same-sex marriage, before announcing his retirement.
