Boyband Union J have pulled out of performing at Pride Cymru, organisers say.

The group were due to attend the LGBT festival in Cardiff this month.

Instead they will appear on the National Lottery television show on the same evening.

Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro and up-and-coming girl group Stooshe will replace the X-factor boy band at Wales’ largest LGBT event in Cardiff on Saturday 16 August.

Collabro took the crowd by storm at last week’s Brighton Pride. While, Stooshe are working on their second album.

“It’s a great pity that Union J will miss the fun, but we are delighted to have found two excellent replacements for them who are real crowd pleasers” said Pride Cymru Chair, Lu Thomas.

Up to 20,000 people are expected to turn out to welcome Collabro, Misha B, Stooshe, Eternal, La Voix and the many others set to perform at Coopers Field next weekend.

Union J star Jaymi Hensley came out as gay during his time on X Factor in November 2012.
