US: Christian radio host Linda Harvey thinks gay people are a myth

  • Marc Webster

Every time this pathetic excuse for a human being opens her mouth she makes a fool of herself as she clearly has no idea about the subject she’s talking about…..she wouldn’t recognise the truth if it came up and punched her in the face…..vile

  • Billy

Linda Harvey is a myth in her own time

  • Jennifer

Make all her information public, address, phone number, cell number, ss#, everything.
Than sit back and watch the fireworks.

  • Stevie

Actually luv I’m a Mythter, soooo pleased I got there first,,,, how can these idiots survive in a world of sharp objects and electricity

    • needingrelease

They are the reasons for labels on toasters warning not to use them in the tub..

      • Hue-Man

The link below has hundreds of them, obviously not studied by recipients of the Darwin Awards! Here’s a good example

“Caution: Remove infant before folding for storage.” — On a
        portable stroller.

        • Lady Tanya

i have been saying this one for years
“Do not use for drying pets.” — In the manual for a microwave oven.

        • needingrelease

          Thanks for that link! :)

  • Chris in LA

Now if only Mistress Harvey were a legend!

  • DTNorth

““These attempts to normalise sinful behaviour have been discounted over and over”.

Look dear, I would suggest that what is not normal is obsessing over other peoples sex lives.

    • Barry Scarfe

Indeed. Someone needs to tell this loon that ‘normality’ IS the RANGE of sexualities to be found in human beings and that being gay, straight or ‘batting for both teams’ IS NORMAL, is an INHERENT part of the human condition and NOT ‘freely chosen’ so gay sex, straight sex or bisexual sex CAN’T be ‘sinful’

    • Tristan

      So agree!

  • Eugene

I “entered this lifestyle” when I was about five-years old. I wonder if she can even fathom the most superficial implications of this fact.

  • Richard the Big Bunny

I think this woman is only famous on PinkNews — I currently live in Ohio and no one here has ever heard of her! She must be the best-kept local secret.

    • Mihangel apYrs

try the website “Joemygod”. It keeps up with a lot of US loonies

    • jamestoronto

Then Ohioans are truly blessed. But her idiotic rants reach a lot of people through her radio comedy broadcast.

  • Michael

A little history is interesting. The “Peter Tatchell” 10% figure (clearly absurd) was born out of a survey in the 1970s of junior doctors practising in London clap clinics who found that 8% of their patients were gay. That was rounded up to a tidy 10% to make a debating point. In the days before HIV/Aids, STD infection was a common problem for gay men because we enjoyed sex with multiple partners secure in the knowledge that antibiotics would deal with our infections. STD was particularly a problem in London, Manchester and Birmingham because gay men tended to migrate to the big cities to escape the homophobic tyranny of the small town. It was not until the rigorous survey by the Wellcome Trust (which Margaret Thatcher tried to suppress) that we came up with with the figure of 1.8% of men had engaged in gay sex in the previous five years – a much more recognisable figure (and not a figure for the gay population but for the sexually active).
And a figure that shows how gay men shaped the culture of 20th century Britain. Name me 98 heterosexuals of the stature of Sir John Gielguid and Sir Ian McKellen, of Sir Michael Tippett and Lord Britten, of Francis Bacon and David Hockney, E M Forster and Angus Wilson, Noel Coward and Terence Rattigan, Nijinsky and Frederick MacMillan. We are few, but we have been great.

    • Mihangel apYrs

      you forgot Turing.

As for the percentages, our argument has to be “at what point does persecution become acceptable?”

      • Peter Bird

Well said, Michael. And let’s not forget giants like Tchaikovsky and Michelangelo.

        • Mihangel apYrs

thank you – we do seem to have had a disproportionate effect on innovation and invention.

As for Linda Harpy, it’s sad that she has a following …

  • Leonard Woodrow

Oh hell, another idiot living in never never land.

  • Lee Hobson

Seeing that she believes in the biggest myth of all it’s not surprising

  • Guglielmo Marinaro

This stupid woman is fine for a laugh. But vulnerable young people need protecting from her abusive agenda.

  • Jane Craker

    What a maroon

  • Tristan

Lifestyle Choice? When did she decide to be a ” straight moron”?

  • Kirk Morgan

if all women looked like her, they’rd be a lot more gay men and a lot less lesbians !

  • kadyriath

I think Linda Harvey is a myth, nobody real can be so stupid.

    • Mich

have you seen Sara Palin? (however her last name is spelt) Her and Linda are in the same category of stupidity

  • Ashleyyy

And they say we are the superior race….sometimes, I think THAT might be a myth….

  • Pink News – please stop publicising this irrevivent person. She’s best ignored

  • David H

Is she confusing “myth” with “legend”?

  • Steven Gregory

It’s a myth that millions of people believe in “God,” and this is proven by their words and actions. The vast majority of people who profess to be believers do not exhibit any kind of respect, fear or concern that a “Supreme Being” is hearing and seeing everything. Instead they act like “God” is busy somewhere while they say ludicrous bu||$hit and commit heinous actions IN GOD’S NAME.

  • Jonathan Vere

Her main point was that “one in ten” was an exaggerated number. I think very few would disagree. The headline above claims she thinks “gay people are a myth,” but elsewhere in the article she said “lots of gay people” are a myth, meaning the one-in-ten figure. Fine to disagree with her viewpoints, but not to distort what she said.

  • Daryl Lawton

‘These attempts to normalise sinful behaviour have been discounted over and over.’
Study after study shows figure at around about that range. Where is that discounted other than the ramblings of insane people?
