Nando’s worker: ‘I despise gay bastards wearing hot pants’

  • Rehan

What a tool (though far from the sharpest tool in the box) – bad enough being a semi-literate racist and homophobe, but you have to be a special kind of stupid to broadcast your prejudices as well as identify your place of work on social media!

  • Allotmentlad

There are too many gay people with a similar attitude unfortunately

    • http://www.bloketoys.co.uk/ BlokeToys.co.uk

Hmm, I have never met any of them.

      • Rehan

        Nor have I.

        • anon

          and my axe.

        • Allotmentlad

Well if you two haven’t met any such people I must be wrong then. I didn’t realise you knew the entirety of the gay population.

          • Rehan

Sorry, I must have missed the point where either of us claimed that.

          • Allotmentlad

I was being sarcastic. Not sure what your original comment added though. You haven’t met any gays with that kind of attitude and……so what?

          • john lyttle

And what exactly did your original comment add? Touchy touchy.

          • Allotmentlad

I was recalling the comments the 2 lads from TOWIE received when they wore those micro trunks – I heard / read several comments from gay people who want to smack them in the face, punch them, claimed they embarrassed the gay community etc etc. Hence my comment.

          • Rehan

So was I. And I’m not sure what your original comment added either since, as I said, I’ve never heard a gay person express such sentiments – and most of the people I know are gay.

  • AdrianT

Good. I hope Nando’s solves the problem for this little scumbag permanently by sacking him, and barring him for life from any of its premises.

    • GulliverUK

They could send him on a diversity training course. Perhaps he could explore some of the work Stonewall does, or better still the Albert Kennedy Trust, London Friend, etc. Push him out and make him bitter, get some revenge, or educate him to how horrible his comment was, as some people feel oppressed on all fronts. Perhaps he could explore, somehow, what it’s like to be harassed because you are gay, then perhaps he’ll understand what it feels like.

We have to be willing to share our experiences and knowledge of what it’s like being gay, because the education system has failed him. Now we see the reason why those critical-thinking pathways must be established early on.

  • lee

Yes an they had to work with filth like you more to the point -hope your sacked and charged with hate crime

    • ciaran

In Northern Ireland? No chance. the most bigoted part of the UK

      • Guest

Why does no-one read the article properly? He was sacked!

        • Rehan

Which article? In this one it says he’s been suspended, which doesn’t mean sacked.

      • Barry Scarfe

Sadly, that is the truth. Sinn Fein are wrong on many things but at least they have more tolerant opinions about LGBT people. Hopefully, NI will progress some day. Perhaps, if the Republic makes gay marriage legal the intolerant sections of NI’s population might take the hint and start to change their opinions?

  • Paul Alphonsis Mcneice

OOO the joy, more homophobia in my home town :(

  • http://www.bloketoys.co.uk/ BlokeToys.co.uk

It takes a special level of ignorance to not understand how your expressed views will impact on your life because of the opinions others form of you. I’m surprised this guy knows how to use Facebook with his obvious intellectual limitations.

    • David H

Facebook has a whole lot of people like that, sadly ;-)

      • sylvatica

        Twitter as well.

  • Daniel Tregant

Actually he needs to be shown his hate is destroying his life.

  • George Penfold

Seems a very intelligent and likable young man, sure to do well and get ahead in life. ………………NOT !!

  • Dolly Digest

Suspended without pay I hope! Then dismissed!

    • Guest

      Fired, it says :)

      • David H

The latest report I’ve read (about 8 hours old) says that he was suspended yesterday (4 August), so I doubt he will have been fired yet as it wouldn’t have allowed time for a disciplinary hearing to have been put in place. He certainly comes across as a thoroughly unpleasant human being.

I have to admit to being a little ignorant of these things, but I’m suspecting that there was probably more to his racism than he’s admitting given the length of his caution.

  • si

    What a clucking moron!

  • anon

Nice. Once again it is safe to wear ma hot pants to Nandos.

  • LJ

Cue a load of people who don’t know what freedom of speech actually means leaving comments…

    • GulliverUK

No, that’s incitement to hatred, not directed at a person, but at an entire community. Replace gays with blacks and you’ll see that.

      • LJ

        I know… I should have been clearer.

      • Harper

Wrong! Homosexuals aren’t born gay. They choose to be gay for a variety of reasons. In a lot of cases they have been abused.

        • GulliverUK

David, all the medical evidence shows quite clearly that your sexuality, straight or gay or bisexual or transgender or intersex is biologically based. Out of hundreds of gay men and lesbians that I’ve personally met and known, only one women was ever abused. Also there are 1500 species of animals / inserts / birds which have been observed in same-sex behavior, with 450 documented in detail. How do you account for that? You have no answers – just the codswallop you get off lifesitenews and wing nut daily.

    • Lee W Dalgleish

Ah yes, the old “freedom of speech” comment… The funny thing is, actions and comments have consequences… Especially when said so publicly

    • Pan Dimensional

Cue a load of people a) not knowing the difference between hate speech and free spech, and b) not realising the internet is not a democracy and therefore free speech arguments don’t apply.

  • http://www.facebook.com/george.forth George Forth

The moral of the story is: restrict your Facebook permissions.

    • anon

I thought it was don’t be a homophobic little chit

    • David H

Does anyone genuinely rely on Facebook permissions? Everyone knows they periodically “glitch” in order to expose ones secrets to the whole interweb :-)

  • gingerlycolors

I bet Chick-fil-a would employ him! At least Nandos is not going to tolerate this sort of nonsense.

  • Alexander Kelso Shiels

This man is seriously uneducted, needs too back to Kindergarden!

  • Pan Dimensional

Funny how he particularly mentions the hot pants. Why would he be focussing on those, I wonder?

    • anon

I despise gay b*stards wearing hot pants … with their firm glutes, well defined quads, and unmissable bulge.

  • Aiden

From what I see these comments were his own views and thoughts placed on his own Facebook profile, outside of business. I remember a similar case, involving a Housing Association, who demoted an employee who wrote his own views about Gay marriage on his own profile, he won a case against them. Not all Free Speech is nice speech.

    • Lee W Dalgleish

Oh this wouldn’t be MrAidenRussell from twitter would it? The man that posts homophobic comments daily? You’d think you’d use a different name and not use the same language/comments as your twitter feed… Just saying.

      • Harper

I would say homosexuals are scared of the truth so I would call them biblephobes. I’m just happy I live in a country were Homosexual pretend marriage is illegal. Don’t forget everybody aged above 16 is allowed to get married in Northern Ireland. :-)

        • Lee W Dalgleish

Oh look it’s Irishbloke, also from twitter. We aren’t scared of what your peddling mate. We just get fed up of saddos like you demonising us and fixating on our lives. Still hiding behind a picture of a lion? Lol I’m surprised you find time to post on here, what with your bizarre constant fights with people who are atheist.

          • Harper

Paranoid? You obviously have ‘issues’. I think you should go and get your ‘issues’ cured.

          • Lee W Dalgleish

I don’t have any issues thanks. You’re the sad little man from Northern Ireland that spends his days having twitter arguments with people who are atheist. You’re the one one arguing that that evolution is lies and god is truth. You’re the one who calls LGBT people perverted. I think the only one with issues is yourself. It must be such a tragic existence for you. Now take your bible and firmly ram it where the sun doesn’t shine :-)

        • anon

I’m just happy I live in a country were secularism is the norm, and religion is declining still.

          • Harper

What you need to remember is God exists whether you like it or not.

          • GulliverUK

Prove that your god exists then. Tell it to come down here and tell us to our faces.

          • Harper

We all know God exists. I don’t need to prove anything.

          • anon

What you need to remember is that god doesn’t exist, however terrified of death you may be.

        • GulliverUK

Seriously David – new account with Google+ – you think you can disguise yourself. There are programs out there which can correlate the way someone writes, the terminology they use, etc., so that a writing fingerprint can be generated.

          • Lee W Dalgleish

Oh what’s his surname? Always been curious who Harper really was

    • Rehan

Yes, but in this instance won’t it be different since he specifically mentions his workplace and having to deal with gay people? Also, I think the instance you refer to was rather different generally since the individual concerned was using rather more reasonable language.

    • Lee W Dalgleish

Oh and highlighting me to your homophobic mates on twitter won’t deter me from pointing out every time you say something moronic. You want to live a sad little life being homophobic? Then I’ll happily point out how much of an idiot you are. You love your free speech but hate anyone using it against you. What a pointless little life you must lead Aiden :-)

      • genjiken

thanks for pointing out that twitter account. reads like the sound the last dinosaur must have made, as his oversized, poorly adapted body wheezed its last agonising breath. A nasty sound, but also the sound of imminent change,

        • Lee W Dalgleish

No problem. I’ve been aware of him for AGES. He spouts so much BS. I can’t work out if he is a troll or genuinely that hateful. I’m guessing he’s single, despite his claims of a family… Or the love died years ago lol

    • David H

Free speech doesn’t permit hate speech, which is a criminal offence. Unfortunately, there are so many American TV shows on these days that people make the mistake of thinking that our laws are the same as theirs. They are not!

I am no great fan of our Prime Minister, but I thoroughly agree with his comment a few weeks ago in that one of the great traditions of this country is its tolerance toward others.

Bigotry should never be endorsed. Of course not everyone likes what other people get up to; but there is a very distinct line between expression of opinion and bigotry. The former is not liking what someone does, but respecting their right to do it anyway; the latter is opposing the rights of others to have the same freedoms as oneself.

I’m unfamiliar with the case in your comment, but I am aware of a number of cases where (especially public sector) employees have been dismissed for making bigoted remarks and who have not won in tribunals.

Everyone is entitled to their views but, where those views, are calling for bigotry against or oppression of others, they are potentially crossing the line into being hate speech (and are hardly representative of any decent human being).

I have to honest, and I’ve asked this question to anti-LGBT people (or, however, you wish to classify yourself) a number of times without ever getting a proper answer, I really struggle to understand why anyone would waste so much energy and time focussing on other people’s way of life when it has no actual impact on your own.

    • genjiken

Free speech is not a right in UK i’m afraid Aiden, maybe you’ve spent time watching american cops and robbers. Hate speech and employee rights don’t share much common ground in Great Britain.

If you don’t like it, maybe you can find a nice home in Saudi Arabia, ahole.

Of course, if Nando’s end up in a tribunal, and on the outside chance, get a bunch of your fellow bigots ruling against them, hey, they can afford it. Boo bloody hoo.

      You stupid inconsequential looser,

    • genjiken

Hi Aiden, im interested in the pathology of the idiot homophobe. When was the last time you had sexual intercourse?

  • john lyttle

These Charm School drop outs. Tsk tsk.

  • soapbubblequeen

Straight to the dole queue for you dear. Next!

  • Christopher in Canada

    We wear short shorts!

We also wore them in the ’70’s and 80’s. and women wore halter tops. The world has gotten strangely conservative since then! Since when are men’s thighs something to hide?

  • Leonard Woodrow

It’s OK to be jealous of people who look better in hot pants than you do, but you have to be very stupid to advertise the fact!

  • titietrominet

Racist and homophobic, how surprising… NOT

  • genjiken

i take solace in the fact this man will never in his life rise above the level of pond scum.

  • Aiden

Funny that I put my point across politely only for the intolerant homosexuals to resort to foul language in their reply. Clearly not happy with those that disagree with their lifestyle choice and chosen behaviour. Very sad.

    • Lee W Dalgleish

You put your idiotic points across daily in twitter you sad little idiot. You make out you do talks at school telling kids you don’t have to choose to be gay. You never mention these schools. Or there was the time you went to Russia for the Olympics… Except all the pictures you posted were actually from google. Then there are the pictures from you two hotels that are registered belief organisations so you don’t have to serve gay people… Yet those pictures were also google & trip advisor. Remember the podcast you were going to do on teaching parents how to stop their kids being gay? Remember the poster you did about it too? The one you had a”designer” do but was riddled with grammatical errors. Remember when you messed with Stephen Fry and his fans put you in your place? I could point out other sad events that mar that tragic existence you call a life. Anyone fancy laughing at the village idiot, he goes by MrAidenRussell on twitter

  • Rob

Well done Nando’s, I would dismiss him as the moron who cannot even speak in sensible terms – can he really be trusted to ensure that food is cooked safely?
