Television ads supporting efforts towards same-sex marriage are back on in the state of Ohio for the first time in ten years.

The Why Marriage Matters Ohio campaign advocates for same-sex marriage in the state, and released the advert which will run in various cities across the state from Wednesday until late next week.

Featured in the video are Ohio couple Henry Hawley and George Vassos, who married last year in New York, after spending half a century together.

“Attitudes in Ohio and across the country are changing fast as communities are coming together to have very serious conversations about the meaning of family, fairness and the future,” Michael Premo, campaign manager for Why Marriage Matters Ohio, said in a statement.

The first ads on the issue of same-sex marriage were shown in Ohio back in 2004, when votes approved a constitutional amendment defining marriage as specifically between one man and one woman.
