    So, the Republicans on the one hand are telling us that people, in the doing of their job, are not allowed to protest state laws they disagree with or that they find morally flawed. While on the other hand Republicans are pushing for laws across the country that explicitly allow employees to unilaterally alter their Ts & Cs for moral reasons.

    When it suits the vile, nasty, odious Rethuglicans, they’re all for violating the law! Just listen to them or read the filth they spew! When it doesn’t, they clutch their collective pearls and gasp, like they’ve been so wronged. When it’s them who are WRONG.

    Clerk Hall is not “performing marriages”. She’s allowing people to apply for and receive marriage licences. In the U.S., a marriage licence must be obtained from a county clerk. The marriage ceremony may be performed and the licence signed by a judge, a clerk at the county offices, and elected official or the clergy of the couple’s choice. the officiant is responsible for returning the licence to the county office whence it was granted.
