    DOMA was not repealed. Part of it was struck down by the supreme court. Only congress can repeal it.

    Yeah, it was a very different time when DOMA was passed. Clinton was running for reelection and had to throw the gays under the bus again, much as he did with the DADT “compromise” that effectively changed nothing for gays in the military. Which was the Clinton pattern – woo the gay vote and campaign contributions, then compromise with anti-gay folks in actual legislation.
