US: Atlantic City targets gay tourists through a range of events
Atlantic City is targeting gay tourists through a range of events taking place over the next few months.
Mayor Don Guardian and tourism officials will outline details of the events in a conference on Monday.
Events will include a 3-day beach party in July, a business-to-business networking event for the LGBT community in September, and the Miss’d America Pageant, a drag spoof of Miss America, also in September.
A beach will be dedicated as a gay-friendly tourist spot, the mayor said.
The city aims to broaden its appeal beyond being one of the gambling capitals of the US.
