Uganda: Officials ‘confident’ anti-gay minister will still become UN parliament head

  • kane

its rather difficult to find any african politician these days that is not corrupt or bigoted.

    • tillthen

Where have you been for the last millennium?

      • kane

unlike you i am not bigot.

in the last millennium we had president mandela, i sure he would have been excellent for this job, but as i said these days/ this millennium you would be hard pressed to find even half decent african politician

        • tillthen

How did you know I was a bigot? You are so perspicacious and percipient. It must have been Bill Cosby who told you. He accused me of bigotry and racism because I voted for George Romney. Well in the end the best man won. Obama has been a fantastic president ……..bwahwhahahahahahahahahahah! Right Bill? Bwahahahahahahahahahahahah.

          • kane

not only bigot but idiot too

          • tillthen

Really, are you that stupid, that you don’t know The Liar in the White House will throw you under the bus as soon the politics dictate. He’s a phony and a w h o r e.

          • kane

            forgot to take medicine, again?

  • Katie

Messr’s Hague and Kerry have just shown gay voters how low on their list of priorities LGBTQ rights are yet they still expect us to feel politically engaged when elections come around.

    • rapture

I’ve actually reached the stage of disengagement with elections , that I did not vote last time , which is my first time not doing so.
Although, this time next year I doubt hague will be in government and I will vote if only to help change this shower of sh*t

  • CHBrighton

This is disgraceful, but at the same time, I want to believe that someone at the UN is watching this and hoping to influence Africa by ‘getting at’ this guy. But then that approach hasn’t worked with the Vatican, Saudi Arabia, Iran etc. so probably won’t here. What a let down.

    • tillthen

You forget, you losers, that the Arabs are the friends of The Savior in the White House, Arabs who stone gays to death. My God, and yet you fawn all over that muzzlum in the White House. As for the Vatican, they stone no one, and look how much they taught you about Interior Decorating! Wake up!

  • Mark Y

Yeah, funny that, no formal protest from western leaders. Imagine a racist politician who has recently backed a ‘kill the black’s’ bill in their country being made the UN head. It just wouldn’t happen.

One rule for racism, another for homophobia.

  • Jones

If he is appointed it will be another nail in the coffin of the UN standing up for human rights of which it was founded to protect.

    • tillthen

      Grow up you pooosy.

      • Jones

You should take your own advice.

  • tillthen

How freeekin’ funny is that. I’m gay and I couldn’t care less what those lazy, overpaid b*tards in the UN do and neither should you. Using your sexuality as a shield is disgusting.

    • Rumbelow

Your comment doesn’t make any sense, I have looked at several of your other comments elsewhere and they are similarly senseless and always negative… are you a troll?…why ask.

      • rapture

        It’s obviously a troll.
On topic of the article, I’m sure most people have no idea what the un actually is supposed to be doing( which they obviously are not doing) , based on the principles it was founded. It has no relevance anymore. We saw that again recently with the Syrian/ukrainian crisis.

      • tillthen

My post is direct and to the point. The UN is a farce and you’re a whining crybaby. Anytime gays get the truth in their face, they have a hissy fit, and call the messenger a troll. How lame to find fault with my posts out of context, posts such as “You’re stupid”.

My, my, my, and now “rapture’, rapture, really, obviously self-adorned, says I’m obviously a troll. What a zinger!

        • Mark Y

Ah shut up you whining little crybaby. Someone tells you the truth, and you have a hissy fit.

          • tillthen

Marky, you’re really funny…..or is that Mary?

  • Jordy

The UN, these days, is hanging on to it’s relevancy by its finger tips.

    • tillthen

      Exactly.

  • Truth

If this man was Iranian and had made anti-Semitic comments, do you think for one second there would have been no protests? It is a disgrace that there have been no voices raised in objection to this disgusting bigot. He must NOT be elected and UN members from ‘civilised’ countries should be shouting about this issue VERY loudly. Then again, we are talking about the UN – a useless organisation when it has come to to protecting LGBT human rights ……

  • SpaceDandy

UN always favor homophobes, war criminal and corrupt politicians.

  • tillthen

I had a next door neighbor who was a black from Haiti, and an executive with the Agriculture Division of the UN. He was totally useless. He couldn’t tell the difference between collard greens and parsley. He was making the big bucks and always bragging about how huge his pension would be. That’s right folks, you’re paying for it.

  • Rumbelow

One good thing about this appointment is that the corruption of this man, as well as Museveni and the Ugandan government is held under the spotlight, their involvement in stirring up conflict in smaller African countries for profit, the nepotism which guarantees that any investigation into corruption will for certain individuals will be overlooked shows up Uganda’s homophobic regime for what it is, a criminal bunch of corrupt crooks out for everything they can get for themselves alone.
