US actor Jonah Hill, known for his roles in The Wolf of Wall Street and the films 21 and 22 Jump Street, has been captured hurling anti-gay slurs at a photographer.

The Hollywood star appeared angry at being approached and filmed by paparazzi whilst walking down an LA street last weekend.

TMZ reports one of the men told Hill: “I like the shorts though, bro. They are pretty sexy.”

After a period of silence, where he was still being followed, the actor responded by saying: “Suck my dick, you faggot!”

Hill has been known for his statements in support of LGBT rights and equal marriage.

Towards the end of last year he tweeted in opposition of Russia’s anti-gay laws by sharing a picture of himself wearing a T-shirt which read “Love Conquers Hate” in Russian.

Speaking to E! shortly afterwards at the Governors Awards, he explained his actions, saying: “I have tons of gay friends, gay family members. It’s like saying, “why do you think people should breathe?”

“I support anybody doing whatever they want to do to be who they are.”
