AFA: It’s not safe for Christians to be photographers, bakers, florists, teachers, innkeepers…

The American Family Association has claimed that it is impossible for Christians to work in a large range of different professions, because ‘homosexuals’ will ‘wreck’ their careers.

Writing to promote its new iPhone app, the group claimed that gay rights activists ‘pro-actively’ stop Christians working as broadcasters, counsellors, photographers, bakers, florists, teachers, or innkeepers.

The group said: “Many Christians choose self-employed careers because they want to be able to run their business according to the dictates of their faith and conscience.

“That list is quickly shrinking as homosexuals pro-actively seek opportunities to wreck the personal business and career of any Christian who declines to support the gay lifestyle.

“Don’t be fooled. This is a focused effort to ostracise and humiliate faith-based businesses and their owners.”

The group claim their new app will allow them to mobilize people to lobby businesses, and help people “effectively engage the culture when our Christian brothers and sister come under attack from homosexual aggression”.

Earlier this month, the Firefox feedback website was flooded with death threats and homophobic abuse, after groups including the AFA called for people to lobby the company over the sacking of its CEO.

Earlier today, the National Organisation for Marriage said it was ‘very pleased’ that an Oregon judge agreed to consider its request to defend a same-sex marriage ban.
