Tracy Morgan: I don’t know why people keep bringing up my anti-gay rant

  • Sparkyu1

File this under “actions have consequences”

Really what response does he expect? “why do people think I’m a homophobe after my vicious, violent anti-gay rant?” Well, that is a freaking mystery, Tracy, it really is.

I just wish his parents had taken their knives and stabbed the little bigot to death when they realized he was going to grow up to be a gay-basher.

  • Truth

Well – let me explain. If I had ranted as you did, about black people, would you be aggrieved?

      well said -totally spot on

Always thought he was an ignorant douche on SNL and 30 Rock. His anti-gay comedy routine pretty much validated my opinion of him. I’m not obligated to forgive him or listen to him ever again, and that’s exactly what I intend to do.

There’s no easier way to make a crowd of imbeciles roar — whether in a comedy club or church — than to go anti-gay. Of course, it’s also the most difficult stain to get rid of and the risk is that some imbeciles may become educated along the way.

  • Lesson number one Tracy – what you say and how you act towards others will always come back to haunt you.

This was not a part of a comedy act, this was a tirade of violent homophobic abuse with suggestions of justification for murdering someone based on personal bigoted beliefs.

I hope this disgusting cretin lost a lot of friends over it. I can’t imagine anyone with a shred of decency would want to be associated to him.

if he’d quit brining it up I amy have forgotten it by now

Well his talk of knives and killing to any gay community member is NO JOKE. violence and the threat of it for many gay people around the world is no joke. It is extraordinary that he can utter mindless 60’s wavy gravy plattitudes about love and think this will smooth things over. I also find it amazing hes BLACK!!! pouring out such explicit violent retribution. I like the reply he got from his collegues on the show .

Morgan’s 30 Rock boss and costar, Tina Fey, made a statement late Friday, saying: “Stand-up comics may have the right to “work out” their material in its ugliest and rawest form in front of an audience, but the violent imagery of Tracy’s rant was disturbing to me at a time when homophobic hate crimes continue to be a life-threatening issue for the GLBT Community. It also doesn’t line up with the Tracy Morgan I know, who is not a hateful man and is generally much too sleepy and self-centered to ever hurt another person. I hope for his sake that Tracy’s apology will be accepted as sincere by his gay and lesbian coworkers at 30 Rock, without whom Tracy would not have lines to say, clothes to wear, sets to stand on, scene partners to act with, or a printed-out paycheck from accounting to put in his pocket. The other producers and I pride ourselves on 30 Rock being a diverse, safe, and fair workplace.”

People will talk about his anti-gay rant until he replaces it with something else, which seems beyond him.
