TV channel Logo has pulled an episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race off of all digital platforms, after critics deemed it transphobic.

The drag competition reality show, currently in its sixth season, had attracted criticism for a segment in which contestants were asked to guess from a photo whether someone was a ‘biological’ or ‘psychological’ woman, using a slur.

A statement to Huffington Post from cable channel Logo reads: “We wanted to thank the community for sharing their concerns around a recent segment and the use of the term ‘she-mail’ on Drag Race.

“Logo has pulled the episode from all of our platforms and that challenge will not appear again.

“Furthermore, we are removing the ‘You’ve got she-mail’ intro from new episodes of the series.

“We did not intend to cause any offence, but in retrospect we realize that it was insensitive. We sincerely apologize.”

A statement signed by RuPaul previously said: “When it comes to the movement of our trans sisters and trans brothers, we are newly sensitized and more committed than ever to help spread love, acceptance and understanding.”

Jonathan Ross recently revealed that he is helping to produce a British version of the show, with drag artist Jodie Harsh tipped to host.
