US: ‘Days of Our Lives’ to show first same-sex wedding
In what is being hailed as the first same-sex wedding on a US daytime soap opera, a gay couple in ‘Days of Our Lives’ will marry this week.
Not only were Will Horton, played by Guy Wilson, and Sonny Kiriakis, played by Freddie Smith, the first gay storyline in the soap, but they will be the first to marry.
Their wedding will begin today, and air over three consecutive episodes, according to network NBC.
The romance between the two characters is affectionately called ‘WilSon’ by fans.
