A Spanish MP strips down for gay sex scenes in a film to be released this week, it has been revealed.

Toni Cantó, who is an MP for the Union, Progress and Democracy party in Valencia, will play a Spanish sex tourist in La Partida (English title ‘The Last Match’), which will be released in Spain tomorrow.

According to Spanish news agency EFE, the film, which contains explicit sex scenes, tells the story of two Cuban rent boys struggling with society’s prejudice and their own fears.

It was shot in Havana in 2011, a few months before Cantó was elected, but he says being in politics wouldn’t have stopped him from taking the role.

He said: “If you’re asking me if I would have played a gay character in sex scenes while being an MP, the answer is yes.

“I’m aware of the fact that I live in a society where people are more shocked by seeing an MP’s backside than by one who robs or is paid under the table. I need to express my artistic side, otherwise I go a bit mad.”
