NYC pastor: ‘Jesus would stone homos – stoning is still the law’

  • Truth

Why hasn’t this man not been arrested for incitement to a criminal act? Surely demanding one group of people physically attacks another is against the law? Or does America’s ‘Freedom of Speech’ guarantee protection for this? Oh and slavery is still condoned in the Bible. Will he be advocating its return…?

    • American’s are “technically” protected under freedom of speech laws, unless the state has an interest in shutting them up.

Personally, I think this man is spewing hate speech, and he is inciting terrorism. He’s is directly attempting to terrorize a group of citizens, so he should be arrested under anti-terror laws.

Some retaliation might be in order here. If I were in the area I would be printing up a list of his previous crimes, details of his time in prison, and then spend a nice day pasting them up all around his hellhole of a “church” for his deluded sheep to read.

    • Erica Cook

This is a hugely overpopulated area, who’s police are seriously understaffed. I would have to say it hasn’t been stopped because what few police have seen it agree and therefor don’t want it down. And given many in the area likely agree with it they aren’t going to call it in. If it has been called in they aren’t likely to be able to get to it right away because there just aren’t enough cops to go around.

    • Johnny Ishibashi

If slavery is condoned, obviously it can not be returned.

      • Truth

        Huh ….?

      • Justanotherfaceinthecrowc

Well, not without a receipt and the original card that you used, you cant.

    • Justanotherfaceinthecrowc

A couple of years ago,Jehovahs Witnesses were condoning the “physical abuse”of ‘apostates” or people who were Jehovah’s Witnesses once.but woke up and decided to live in reality.Guy killed his wife stating the Watchtower told him it was ok.This seems like the same sort of situation…

    • Isa Kocher

he is literally acting in material support for terrorism.

  • Beelzeebub

    “Stoning is still the law”?

OK, try it then and we will see just how quickly you’ll be avoiding “big bubba” in the local penitentiary showers.

  • kane

prime example of how one’s right to religious freedom, enshrined in american constitution, can ‘enhance’ free speech.

  • Steven Gregory

Let’s be sure to stone all the women who have had sex outside of marriage, and don’t forget to have husbands beat their wives if they attempt to exert authority over men. In the meantime, let’s talk about his greed and gluttony.

    • Jeffrey

Haha….and ofcourse don’t forget to kill your children if they’re disobedient…

    • Isa Kocher

men who have sex with others besides their wives are supposed to be stoned.

      • Steven Gregory

With the legalization of cannabis in Colorado, I’m sure many of them are.
But back to the Bible. It appears women most often bear the brunt of sex outside of marriage: in cases of rape there is no penalty for the perpetrator, but if the woman victim doesn’t scream loudly enough, she would be stoned. Plural marriage for men is condoned in scripture again and again, and there’s not indication “God” is displeased by it.

        • Isa Kocher

          Leviticus 20:10 New International Version
“‘If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife–with the wife of his neighbor–both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.

          • Steven Gregory

There are also passages that a man may not sleep with a slave promised to another man, but there’s no penalty other than God’s finger-shaking. Women definitely bear the brunt of punishment in most instances — including rape. A woman should never “allow” herself to be raped, God doesn’t like it.

          • Isa Kocher

totally completely categorically deceitfully false. no such scripture as you describe exists. neither judaism, nor the church has ever made any such rules and certainly not in the collection of scriptural books called the Bible. raping slaves was a crime according to Torah, and slaves had to be compensated for injuries and serious injury, like losing a tooth meant manumission. nowhere is woman victimhood allowed in the scriptures.

          • Steven Gregory

And you are proven STUPID. Is your Google borken?
Leviticus 19:20 “‘If a man sleeps with a female slave who is promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed.”

          • Isa Kocher

quote steven gregory”There are also passages that a man may not sleep with a slave promised to another man, but there’s no penalty other than God’s finger-shaking.” you said there is no punishment but a finger wag. Yet you quote Leviticus that there IS a punishment. ” due punishmenbt” is not a finger wag. but you are a proven bully. who is also provenly lying about scripture, even the scriptures you yourself quote. There is nowhere in scripture anywhere that a woman who is raped is guilty. so all you can do is bully, and lie. even your own quote from leviticus says quite the opposite from what you say it says. if that make me stupid, i’ll be happy to be stupid. from you, that can only be taken as a compliment. thanks.

          • Steven Gregory

You were adamant in several posts that nothing of the sort existed blah-blah-blah.
Get off my leg, little dog.

          • Isa Kocher

anyone can with an IQ above room temperature can read that you were categorically wrong. the very quote you give says the exact opposite of what you say it does. oh BTW thanks for such a profound compliment. quite clearly nothing you’ve said about the scriptures has any resemblance to what your accusations say. you know the joke BTW that on the Internet, nobody knows you’re a dog. so thanks. god help you. it must be frustrating to be bully. pace.

          • Steven Gregory

            F-cough. You’re truly boring.

          • saintlaw

Christ on a bike your prose is even worse than the guff you quote.

          • Isa Kocher

gee thanks. what a nice thing to say. so generous of you to care :-)

          • Isa Kocher

one can see obviously you are a person of profound compassion.

          • barriejohn

            (Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB)

If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife.

          • Isa Kocher

again, the quote clearly says sleep with/lie with, and not rape.

the next two verses the hebrew say by force. so deuteronomy 22:23-24 is about casual sex because 25-26 says rape by force.

where a married woman here in Deuteronomy is raped by force she is emphatically innocent, but not where a married woman is not forced but acquiesces. the hebrew makes the contrast very explicit. use of force and rape means the person being raped is innocent.

there is a huge difference between two people having sex, and one person raping another.

the scripture nowhere condemns an innocent woman to death because of a man’s rape. in fact, it explicitly says not to do anything to the victim.

none of this applies to unmarried women who are not in question here. the innocent are not to be hurt. it says.

and the man is punished. stoned to death for rape.

        • Isa Kocher

Mark 10:11 – And he tells them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, commits adultery against her.

        • Isa Kocher

that is just not anywhere in the Bible, in Torah, in the Prophets. in any of the Wisdom books. not in the Gospels for sure, nor the letters. not so. not there.

      • saintlaw

There’s nowt wrong with you your suicide wouldn’t cure.

  • Halou

I suppose he will tell us all that he is better than the words of Jesus himself, and that unlike any other human on Earth he is free from all sin, so much so that he can be cast the first stone.
I guess he hasn’t read that part of his own holy book yet.

  • Jones

Why stop there pastor? How about we stone anyone who is deemed a sinner by your holy book. Gays, slaves, adulterers. Heck why not even gingers and left handed people while we’re at it!

    • Steven Gregory

Thankfully Gingers and Leftys are not listed among stoning offenses. Interestingly, have you read that many Bible scholars hold that Jesus was Albino? Here is a description of Christ from Revelation 1:14: “His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;”

      • kostas.lacon

He is the Father {God} not the Son {Christ}.

        • Steven Gregory

          Read your Bible, moron.

          • Truth

I think you should both stop analysing and quoting from an old book which has absolutely no relevance to modern society and which has caused untold suffering and countless deaths.

          • Steven Gregory

I totally agree with you that the Wholly Babble has been used for untold destruction.

As an atheist with an intensive history in American Traditional Religious Indoctrination, I know that most Christians know very little about scripture, and it is the perfect tool to tear down their smug “beliefs.”

  • Brett Gibson

This guy is seriously retarded. Get him to the luney bin.

  • JD

Yeah Pastor – well the bible entitles us ALL to Own Slaves – according to your book of fables – so get those chains back on Mr

  • Stop Stupid!

If a teen can be arrested and jailed for bullying on Facebook. .. why are these obvious hate mongers not also jailed and banned from using the Internet and media?

  • wildseas

We live in the second covenent now, pastor, the Old Testament laws no longer apply to Christians. We are saved by Grace not by the Law. So as soon as you decide to become a real Christian, we can then talk. In the meantime it would be advisable to keep quiet before you land yourself in hot water. Oh and do stop trying to get publicity by ranting on things about which you no absolutely nothing. Trying to incite hate is dangerous talk.

    • Steven Gregory

He wouldn’t drone on and on about anti-gay crap unless it was profitable.

  • Rumbelow

Manning is a convicted criminal, he was born on February 20, 1947, He became radicalized in the 1960s and said he was driven by his hatred of white people. As a younger man, Manning burgled homes, mostly on Long Island. Between 1969 and 1974, he said, he broke into as many as 100 houses, and once threatened an associate with a loaded shotgun. He spent about three and a half years in prison in New York and Florida for burglary, robbery, larceny, criminal possession of a weapon, and other charges before his release in 1978.

    • Derek Northcote

Of course he will describe himself as “born again” which is usually a religious get out clause for their past criminality.

      Problem is.

With this incitement of violence he is still a criminal with zero understanding of the bilebull he purports to represent.

    • Steven Gregory

It really takes a lapse in human conscience to speak as he does.

  • plusorange

“Let he who is without sin throw the first stone.” – Meaning Jesus didn’t condone stoning… this guy doesn’t even know the bible. And yes, this sort of hate speech inciting violence against an entire group should be criminal.

  • Steven Gregory

He needs to be stoned for LYING! Homosexuality is not among stoning offenses in the Bible, which are as follows:

For cursing or blaspheming: Leviticus 24:16

For adultery (including urban rape victims who fail to scream loud enough): Deuteronomy 22:23-24

For animals (like an ox that gores a human): Exodus 21:28

For a woman who is not a virgin on her wedding night: Deuteronomy 22:13-21

For worshipping other gods: Deuteronomy 17:2-5; Deuteronomy 13:5-10

    For disobeying parents: Deuteronomy 21:18-21

For witches and wizards: Leviticus 20:27

For giving your children to Molech: Leviticus 20:2

For breaking the Sabbath: Numbers 15:32-56

    • Derek Northcote

What I find most frightening is not this evil loon spewing cr@p from his pulpit, but the idiots that pay him any attention.

      • Steven Gregory

It was discovered long ago that pandering to bias is very profitable, whether the courtesans of Venice angering God and bringing about the Plague, righteousness of slave holdings, witches in Salem, on and on. He can’t go after the sins of his congregation: sex, gluttony, drunkenness. So he and many like him go after what most of his congregation doesn’t deal with personally: homosexuality.

    • How sad for anyone who believes such nonsense.

      • Steven Gregory

I recently discovered that UNICORNS are mentioned NINE TIMES in the Bible. What more does one need to realize that the Christian mythology is nothing more than fables and superstitions?

        • Jones

What more does one need to realize that the Christian mythology is nothing more than fables and superstitions?

A brain. Which most religious whackos don’t seem to have.

          • Truth

            Hahah. Good one!

  • In other words he has realized he has forsaken happiness for hate and now would like a whole bunch of others to jump over the same cliff.
    Misery loves company.

  • Why would another person want to stone another person. People who have enough anger to hurt other people should be handcuffed and punished. In this case, this man ought to be punished and work with the gay community. CBT wouldn’t go amiss either

    • Truth

To me, it is the same kind of anger expressed by people like Scott Lively and other rabied homophobes. It absolutely reeks of self-hatred. As has been discovered so often in the past, every one of these so-called ‘evangelists’ eventually is exposed as being a repressed homosexual. Even former followers of Fred Phelps have come to believe that he is a closet case ……. it’s the only thing that explains their obsession with the subject.

  • jason

If stoning were still the law… your African American behind would still be enslaved and in chains!
And before anyone starts getting oh so moral about my comment… I am black!

    • Steven Gregory

      You’re Black and correct.

  • Christopher in Canada

Why am I suddenly thinking of the song “Strange Fruit”?

  • CHBrighton

Poor man is clearly suffering. He needs to go into the desert, stay in a cave and calm down.

  • Dewey McGeoch

Some of us Harlemites choose to simply laugh at the man.

  • Cal

He is just one madman. The scary part is all the morons that follow him, delighted by his bloodthirsty bigotry. The church is quite organised looking with international outreach.

  • (HRH) Liz F Obisanya

The Truth is that it(stoning) was allowed under the Law of Moses (Old Testament ) but JESUS CAME TO ABOLISH THE LAW AND ESTABLISHED GRACE see for yourselves in the book of Hebrews 10:9 , that is what being a Christian is about — dont let this hate filled man who is operating under an system that has been repealed/anulled/negated /cancelled etc fool you into thinking that He is speaking for Christ or Christendom.

That is the main problem many of the so called Christians who are not walking according to the Law of Christ ( the Law of Love ) and the new dispensation they are stuck on the old one where there is NO SALVATION. funny we need to pray for them

  • Jeffrey

This idiot doesn’t know his own boss!

  • slightlyamused

More proof that religion attracts people with mental health problems.

  • proudcub

Let he without sin throw the first stone, well in that case he is the firtst inline to be stoned under the eyes of his god. and if anyone has a few extra stones pass them here I’ll give him twenty yards start and still get the idiot as Im all ready a sinner as far as he is concerned so it matter not for I to cast a stone in the direction of his stupid head. The Bible has a lot to answer for, Oh do remind me who wrote it or which version does this man follow.

  • Bikerman

Is that so? If that law were still in force then your sorry black criminal ass would still be in chains

  • Silke

OMG Mr Manning, I can`t believe this kind of thinking can happen in 2014!!
You have a truly poor intellect!

Perhaps this “man of the cloth” like the other virulently anti-gay blacks should be more concerned about black crime. Does the United States and other countries have an epidemic of all types of crime statistics committed by gays? NO! All the millions in HIV/AIDS research and prevention is still ignored in the African countries and “communities of color” in the cities of the United States. How quickly they forget “the white homo devils” that marched in the 1950’s and 1960’s for their civil right to commit widespread crime throughout the U.S. There’s certainly enough of that in Harlem and every other country unfortunate enough to have the black plaque. What is more pernicious? The daily black crime statistics or whether two gay men or women have intimacy and desire to get married? Of course, they also blame the “homos” for the breakdown of the black family instead of blaming their own worthless, crime ridden lives! Yeah….It’s the gays that are doing the drive-by shootings, carjackings, store robberies, assaults and ruination of once white neighborhoods in the cities throughout the United States and Europe. Where’s the outrage and denunciations from the racist Congressional Black Caucus? As far as his American Christian colleague Ralph Reed, I’m SO sorry you Christians feel persecuted and discriminated against. How funny!

  • Rob Oakes

If Jesus did exist as the son of god, did he not advocate peace and love to fellow man? There is more truth in Grimms fairy tales than the bible?

  • Tanya Laura Pope

    • Leigh_Oats

Yeah. Let’s get rid of regions.

  • Leigh_Oats

The “Dr” seems to be stoned already.

Meanwhile the anti-stoning Jesus Christ turns in his grave, if he has one.

  • Mike

When will these so called Christian’s realise that the old Testament is a lot of made up rubbish about sexual matters! They just love Leviticus! I assume we should go around the streets at night throwing rocks at the Lady’s of the Night?, burn down Primark and others for selling items made of mixed yarns, destroy Sainsbury’s for selling pork and Prawns, throw your wife out doors when she has a period etc and so on(!!!!)
On the other hand, Jesus (that is the New Testament) does not condone punishment but forgiveness and compassion and yes, that is the CHRISTIAN book, not the Old Testament!
