Texas man killed his daughter and girlfriend because they were gay, claims mother
A father from Texas killed his daughter and her girlfriend because he was disgusted with the former being a lesbian, her mother has claimed.
In a twist to the already gruesome case, Loranda McDonald, mother of Britney Cosby, who was beaten to death, said she and her girlfriend Crystal Jackson, who was shot, were killed by Cosby’s father.
McDonald claimed James Cosby, 46, was disgusted with the fact that his daughter was a lesbian, so killed the two and dumped their bodies near a dumpster.
The victims were both 24 years old, and their bodies were found on 7 March.
“He said it to me a few times that he did not like the idea of her being gay,” McDonald told KHOU TV.
“But, like I told him, there’s nothing we could do about that. That’s who she is. We can’t change her lifestyle.”
James Cosby, a registered sex offender, was released from prison in October, and now faces capital murder charges.
Murder weapons, and Cosby’s car, have not been recovered by police who fear there may be another suspect in the case based on CCTV footage which showed a man who appeared shorter than Cosby at the scene.
Cosby is currently held in jail on a $500,000 bond, after hew as found tampering with evidence.
He is the prime suspect and at least one of the murders, as his fingerprints were found on a piece of paper on the bodies, and police found pools of blood inside his home in Houston. According to reports, police also found a copy of the Koran open at a page which describes homosexuality as a sin.
Police said they have no doubts that “at least one murder happened at his house”, but say they are still searching for another motive in the crime.
“I think they should lock him up, don’t let him out,” McDonald said of her ex, Cosby. “Give him the chair, I want him to suffer.”
Cosby served 10 years in prison for a 1994 sexual assault, and then two other jail sentences which ended in October for not registering as an offender.
