A map revealing the worst places to be LGBT has been published.

The International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA), has released a map indicating the countries where being LGBT is most dangerous.

The map indicates countries where laws mean that if found guilty, LGBT people could face life imprisonment, 14 years in jail or even the death penalty.

According to the map, the death penalty is in place in seven countries, and a jail sentence of 14 years to life is imposed in several more, including countries like India, Jamaica and Morocco.

Earlier this week Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni signed a law making jail sentences harder on anyone found guilty of same-sex sexual activity.

Russia is not included on the map, where it is a criminal act to display any “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations”
