Video: NFL draft prospect comes out as gay: ‘I’m not afraid to tell the world who I am’

Missouri All American and NFL draft hopeful Michael Sam came out as gay in interviews on Sunday.

Mr Sam said he knew that if drafted, he would become the first openly gay player in the NFL, that he was prepared for the challenge, but that he wanted to be open and honest.

He has also seen support since coming out from US First Lady Michelle Obama, who tweeted to say she was “proud” of his achievements both on and off the field.
