The Dutch bisexual speed skater Ireen Wüst has won the second gold medal for the Netherlands at this year’s Winter Olympic Games.
Wüst revealed that she is bisexual in 2009, announcing that she was in a relationship with fellow Dutch speed skater Sanne van Kerkhof. They since split and she is now dating a man.
The skater completed the 3,000m speed skate in 4 minutes and 0.34 seconds beating the Czech defending champion Martina Sablikova.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently said that the Sochi Winter Olympics are “not the place” to debate the country’s treatment of LGBT people following a new anti-gay law.
