Southwark council flies a rainbow flag marking LGBT history month
UPDATE 14:30: It has emerged that Southwark council are in fact flying the rainbow pride flag to mark LGBT history month, which nevertheless coincides with the start of the Sochi Winter Games amid anti-gay controversy in Russia.
In 2009, Southwark elected its first openly gay mayor, Councillor Jeff Hook.
