This man really is a pratt with very poor PR.
Simply look on Youtube….need I say more!

    1. Medvedev is blind. It took me the whole of 3 seconds to find this:
Of course he will say he does not know of any instances of the law being enforced by the police when, with a wink and a nod, the government looks the other way and leaves the enforcement to groups which sit themselves on one or the other side of domestic terrorism.

  2. Mental health practitioners should intervene right about now, I literally have no words.

  3. Of course not. They’re too busy fighting for their lives in street attacks, as the police look on and laugh or ignore it.

Gee, I wonder where all this hate’s come from all of a sudden.

Could it be that someone has been spreading misconceptions around Russia equating homosexuals with paedophiles?
    Nah, of course not.

  4. Midnighter 23 Jan 2014, 6:21pm

    Lying f**ker.

Either this clown simply couldn’t concoct a plausible lie to placate the international community, or this was calculated to taunt their detractors by insulting their intelligence.

  5. “I haven’t heard of a single representative of Russia’s sexual minorities complaining, not even on the internet, about their rights being abused.”

Then, Dimitry, darling, you need to UNPLUG YOUR EARS!

Honestly, is this man very hard of hearing or just plain stupid? Or both?

  6. GulliverUK 23 Jan 2014, 6:36pm

It’s a lie, but not unexpected from Putin’s sidekick.

But if it were true it would say more about you, the authoritarian dictatorship, the ruthless police intimidation and Russia’s past history of human rights abuses and oppression of … pretty much every member of your society. You have a bloody and very nasty history in Russia, with harsh punishments and the notorious gulag forced-labour camps. You are only a short step from becoming the next country to repeat the Nazi atrocities. It started like this in the mid 1930s.

Your “propoganda” is showing —- dimwit.

  7. One can only presume that he hasn’t heard of any complaints from LGBT in relation to the propaganda law is because:
    1) Fear of speaking out will lead to individuals being attacked
    2) Speak out publicly of the propaganda law is actually breaking the law
    3) He is a delusional politician – who has got his head clearly in the sand when it comes to what the public are actually saying. Aka selective hearing!

    1. I’m sure he’s heard many complaints. The thing is, he only got the job of Prime Minister as a reward for keeping the President’s seat warm for Mr Putin, being as surplus to requirement as he is, Medvedev doesn’t dare step out of line.

  8. Kelvin Beer-Jones 23 Jan 2014, 7:19pm

Our friends in Russia are suffering. Should we not do something to embarrass the Russian State at the time of the Sochi event. This will show support for our friends and let them know that we do hear and will respond to their suffering.

    1. they’ve still got 300000 tickets they can’t sell. I think they’re doing a good job of embarrassing themselves

  9. Russian heterosexuals are either very stupid, or they have elected some very stupid people into power.

  10. Oh look, Putin’s official presidential seat warmer still exists, a man whose only purpose in politics was to help Putin get around the Constitutional term limits (cannot have more than two in a row).
    He still thinks he’s important.

  11. Of course they haven’t Medvedev because you’ve ‘silenced’ them afterwards.

  12. GulliverUK 23 Jan 2014, 8:07pm

Elton John is here to tell Putin how people are being abused since the introduction of this law.
    (also in

There are countless stories in the press, videos of torture on the internet – how much more evidence do you need.
There is also the VICE/Stonewall collaboration “Young and Gay in Putin’s Russia”

  13. Helge Vladimir Tiller 23 Jan 2014, 8:40pm

LIAR- LIAR- LIAR ! I’ve personally talked with Russian ( Russian citizens) gay persons who complained about these new laws. Liar, your name is Medvedev.

  14. Why do I suddenly feel like I stepped onto a farm with cow pats everywhere I turn?

    1. Christopher in Canada 24 Jan 2014, 12:06am

Don’t denigrate farms. A minefield is a better allegory.

  15. That There Other David 23 Jan 2014, 11:30pm

This is a blatant lie. I know that for a fact.

Who is Medvedev trying to convince here? The Russian people, himself, or the international community?

  16. Christopher in Canada 24 Jan 2014, 12:03am

    Obtuse. Great word.

  17. James Campbell 24 Jan 2014, 12:33am

If I ever need an example of someone who lives in a parallel universe, I can cite this sanctimonious creep. This kind of response is an echo of the words of Holocaust deniers who claim that that the Nazi government did not have a policy of deliberately targeting Jews and people of Jewish ancestry. No amount of carefully researched and personally testified evidence can persuade them that between five and seven million Jews were systematically killed by the Nazis and their allies. I wonder how history will judge the likes of Putin, Medvedev and their hangers on?

  18. It isn’t the fact the Russian government’s doing all this stuff that really scares me, it’s the fact the most of their people seem to support them in doing it.

  19. This couldn’t be because of the total stranglehold the Kremlin has on Russian media, could it?

Either he isn’t looking hard enough, or he doesn’t pay attention to any news outside of his own country and its widespread internal propaganda.

It says a lot about the pathetic nature of his position if he doesn’t pay any attention to outside media in relation to his own fu*king country.

  20. HOW PATHETIC! He should not show up in the Philippines! Him and Putin are not welcome, LGBT Filipinos will grab them alive! So blind, and FOOL! We will see, SOCHI Games will be not a great Olympic games. Truly sad

  21. jackAlison 24 Jan 2014, 7:14am

    Classic history repeating itself
the russian govt. is in trouble
it imprisons activists for no apparent reason than sayn they dislike putin
    it assasinates journalists
and it extends”contitutionally ” putins tenure
now like Nazi germany it picks on a minority groups to deflect its problems
the good part is that putin cannot hide anymore
the world is watching just like nigeria in africa

  22. That comes as no surprise. Poor souls are to bloody frightened to complain. It’d be straight to the gulag….or worse if they did complain.
This man is a bleedin’ idiot.

  23. “…. so far I have heard virtually nothing about this law actually being applied in practice – there is a lot of talk, but the law has not been applied anywhere.”
Well then, it’s a pointless and vindictive law and should be repealed immediately.

  24. “I haven’t heard of a single representative of Russia’s sexual minorities complaining, not even on the internet, about their rights being abused.”
Perhaps because they get spirited away to the gulags for mentioning it?

  25. Johnny mc cool 24 Jan 2014, 3:33pm

most outrageous piece of legislation in the world since Adolf Hitler came to power to exterminate Jews. -LGBT activist writing for RT

And that’s from the state propaganda machine, That Putin puppet should have his head checked.

  26. 23 January 2014, 18:06
Russian LGBT activists fined under Putin’s propaganda law for demonstrating

  27. alwaysniceman 24 Jan 2014, 4:57pm

LEt me guess? Because you kill them before they speak up?

  28. Andrew Werling 26 Jan 2014, 12:26am

If I was in Russia and complained about the “propaganda” law, the government would do something pretty terrible, now wouldn’t it? Does he think everyone’s just incredibly stupid, or does he want us to think he is?
