  1. I remember reading about how the International Olympic Committee sued a gay man for using the term “Gay Olympics” in the 1980s and that resulted in the event title now being used “Gay Games”.

How much has really changed? The world is full of bigots, always has been, but somebody has to provide bigots the power, to do the real damage..

I so wish it to be true.

However history is never kind to minority groups and the host country will never mention it. But does that matter? I think not. What matters is that we keep up the pressure to push for recognition of human rights for minority groups including gay people world wide. We must use the multi media to invest our influence wisely and target the next generation with gay friendly messages and showing our lives. Should we start up a gay youtube showing all aspects of gay families, work, relationships and be a place for well done sex education etc.

Further we need a slogan to use against religion like RELIGION KILLS PEOPLE! It’s to make people think?

    1. Gay couples are all over YouTube by the dozens. The most popular is shep689.

  3. All of this is spot-on of course, but the most important thing to mention out of all of this is the influence of sponsors and the money-making machine.
It’s clear that the IOC is about money, therefore hitting the sponsors in the pocket and shaming them into compliance is the key to this.

Coca Cola should be paying attention here. Other sponsors should be too. They are associating their brand to the disaster that is Sochi, and the IOC is allowing them all to be shamed and embarrassed for backing it.

Hit them where it hurts. Target the sponsors with boycott campaigns. Expose the hypocrisy of their lucrative deals and show people what the IOC and their backers are really all about.

If no companies are willing to sponsor the Olympics they cannot be held. The IOC would fold like a cheap suit and we would see a raft of rules and amendments to the charter guaranteeing Human Rights are supported and nations that abuse those rights are rejected from participation.

I admire Peter Tatchell’s persistency. He never gives in. Good quality !

    1. I do too. Even those who oppose what he says and does should surely give him credit for his sheer tenacity. He has come a long way from once being a national hate figure in the early 1980’s to nowdays being a national treasure.

  5. ‘The positive nature of some child-adult sexual relationships is not confined to non-Western cultures. Several of my friends – gay and straight, male and female – had sex with adults from the ages of nine to 13. None feel they were abused. All say it was their conscious choice and gave them great joy.
‘While it may be impossible to condone paedophilia, it is time society acknowledged the truth that not all sex involving children is unwanted, abusive and harmful.’- Peter Tatchell
The ‘anti-gay’ law Tatchell thinks is ‘homophobic’:
Criminal Code: Sexual relations and other action of a sexual nature with a person under the age of sixteen (16), Chapter 18, Article 134
Sexual intercourse, buggery [‘muzhelozhstvo’] or lesbianism, committed by a person over 18 on a person admittedly under 14 is punishable by limitation of freedom up to three years or deprivation of freedom up to four years

Thankfully the Russian people have not swallowed the propaganda from the homo-lobby.

  6. “How can there be normal sporting relations with an abnormal regime like Putin’s Russia?”

Spot-on Peter, the principle 6 hand gesture of five fingers and a thumb is a great idea, I hope it is widely adopted and used by both participants and spectators.

  7. …. and let’s never forget the sponsors of The Homophobic Games. They had numerous opportunities to make a stand but refused. Here’s a list of companies from whom you may wish to withdraw you support just as they have witheld support for us …

  8. Peter Tatchell is a pratt to put it nicely, he openly speaks of Russia and yet stands in defence of Islam which is slaughting thousands of gay men and women in the most attrocious ways world wide, but as he say’s ‘its their culture and their rights’

  9. This man is quite mad.
