I’m sure there are many more. Let’s not forget that UKIP kicks out anyone supporting or espousing equal marriage and it’s small group of gay members of course also oppose it. I love Mike Fabricant a really decent Tory who gets it.

  2. While agreeing and thinking there are many more within UKIP that hold similar equally ludicrous views. I also suspect that the Tories, Labour, Lib Dems etc al have their own share of loonies that need expelling ASAP.

  3. Pretty sure he held those views while he was in the conservative party, perhaps you should ask yourself the same question. Btw I’m not defending UKIP, but I’m pretty sure they aren’t the only party with bigots.

The Tory party is awash with swivel-eyed loons like this bloke. Many of them took the opportunity to air their odious opinions in the equal marriage debates last year. Where was Fabricant then?

  4. All parties need to kick out their sexual bigots. UKIP have more I’m sure as do Conservatives, Labour, Liberal Democrats et al.

  5. Remind me what action the Tories took with respect to that Tory MP claiming that being gay is just a phase that teenagers go through?

    1. They didn’t expel Sir John Stanley or subject him to any form of party discipline. I am not surprised seeing he holds an extremely safe Tory seat (Tonbridge and Malling) which is one of the Tory Party’s safest (Tory majority of 18,000 and a percentage one of 35% so a ‘swing’ of 17% to the LIb Dems would be needed to lose it). The Tories wouldn’t want to have a by-election in such a safe seat. It’s strange but we haven’t had a safe Conservative constituency come up for election since 2010.

  6. How many share Silvester’s views, you ask.

Well, Mr. Fabricant, if any of my 30 or so neighbours, with whom my partner and I are on good speaking terms, seriously believes that my partner and I and all the other gays and lesbians here in the UK are responsible for global climate change, not one of them has yet let on.

  7. It is time foe Pink News to admit to being a front for the Tory Party.

Why is Toryboy Fabricant allowed to make these comments in print without PinkNews mentioning the FACT that over 50% of Tory MPs are bigots who think we are 2nd class citizens.

Pink News needs to admit that it supports a party that hates it.

Sim, the problem is because you are on the left and/or hate the Conservative Party, you are ready to interpret secret and sinister motives whenever there is an article that does not hate them as much as you do.

  8. In the run up to the marriage equality vote Fabricant was ‘disturbed’ by pressure on Tory MPs to support equally.

Despite the pressure less than half of Tory MPs supported equality.

Surely such information should be included in an article like this.

Or is PN simply reprinting Tory press releases again and passing thwm off as ‘news’.

Funny, because Fabricant didn’t seem to mind Mr. Silvester’s views when he was campaigning with a blue rosette. I wonder how many Tories share his views? More than Central Office want us to think about, that’s for sure.

    1. And the irony is despite being historically the most homophobic of Britain’s so-called ‘mainstream’ parties the Tories have always had loads of gay and bisexual members, party activists ect They may even have had Britain’s first gay PM in Edward Heath! I don’t know who it was but somebody once said the Conservative Party in London was run by gay men!

  10. 99.9% I imagine …. a similar proportion to back-bench Tories ….

  11. I also think a huge number of UKIP agree with every word this bigot said

But then – I also think a huge number of Tories do as well. Or do we need to bring up the voting record of the Tory front bench? Or consider how many Tories fought against marriage equality?

Tories and UKIP both are definitely not friends to GBLT people. I loathe UKIP, but this is a big shiny glass house that Mr. Fabricant is throwing stones from

  12. Tory Vice Chair: Good that UKIP ditched ‘gay marriage floods’ councillor but how many share his views?

(Translation: Good that Cllr Sylvester defected from the Conservative Party BEFORE his mad views hit the national press!)

  13. Meanwhile, the highest scholarly experts in islam are saying that us gays should be burned alive. And the Pink News has no story on that, but umpteen stories about the mental ravings of some Tory councillor who has defected to UKIP.

60% to 70% of British muslims want to see homosexuality criminalised, but all the gay elite are concerned with is gossip.
