  1. They should invite Robbie Rogers !

  2. Seriously? Well done, York FC!

I couldn’t have imagined this even being possible a few years ago.

it’s a commendable start, but instead of “Dedicating” how about the FA allow one friendly home game between the home team and a local gay team during respective pride weeks. Use initiative! show they are not afraid of interacting with the gay community. All this at arms length stuff is bull! if they mean business and to challenge homophobia in the game “show it” get involved, lets see some interaction! Do it for the example of sportsmanship with the community, maybe if the players showed example by acceptance to the spectators, they might start to have a different perspective of the game.

As a life long York fan I know this is a non problem. There’s no issues at the club on or off the field. No-one cares who a player is as long as they are wining for YCFC. The club’s just following FA initiatives. This said, you shouldn’t confuse acceptance of gay players with agreement. Most fans are just eye rolling at the campaign and some won’t be there because of it. The club management are getting a bit carried away with being PC. BTW you cut and pasted this article from the Yorkshire Evening Press.
