Holy moley! The internal conflict must be immense. A gay man belonging to a religion that declares he is “intrinsically ordered towards evil”, standing for a party that has with zeal opposed every single LGBT rights issue since they were created by their god 6,000 years ago, on a planet perennially circumnavigated by the Sun.

Don’t worry, the Teabagistaners and religious nutters will be out in droves urging people not to support him and make him a one time mayor or find something to shorten his term.

    1. If they couldn’t manage to unseat a gay mayor in Texas, what makes you think they could do it in a liberal northeastern state like New Jersey? We’re talking about a city where Democrats outnumber Republicans nine to one. If anything threatens this guy’s tenure as mayor, it’s the risk of being perceived as insufficiently progressive by the Democrats who crossed party lines to vote him into office. Look at what happened to Christine Quinn.

  4. Wow! That IS a combination!

How could you belong to two groups that are devoted to destroying everything you are. I get that we are not a single entity. But this is beyond belief.

If only all straight people could be as tolerant as us!

Why don’t you write him and ask him, Rej4si? If you really are that interested in his views, rather than just making assumptions…
