A book written by the adamantly anti-gay US radio host Linda Harvey has been pulled from sale by its publisher.

The book titled “Maybe He’s Not Gay: Another View on Homosexuality”, was reportedly removed from Amazon’s listings following a deluge of complaint letters. Amazon made it clear that it did not remove the book from sale, but the publisher did.

The book contains “advice” for parents with children who have an attraction to the same-sex, and claims to suggest alternatives to accepting the sexuality of a child, including ignoring their requests for support.

A statement from Amazon sent to PinkNews said: “The publisher removed their book from sale.”

Linda Harvey of Mission America in the book poses questions such as: “Is there another possibility that transcends the seeming finality of a homosexual identity?”

MaybeHe'sNotGay

Back in August, Harvey said that gay and lesbian people are attracted to people of the same sex because they are empty, and want to “absorb” the personalities of others.

Last month, Harvey attacked the US Supreme Court for its rulings in two key equal marriage cases, to call the justices “clueless, immoral leadership”.

PinkNews readers sometimes ask why it is that PinkNews reports on the latest vile outbursts by God Hates Fags organisers, the Westboro Baptist Church, or the most recent ludicrous and illogical statement by US radio personalities such like Linda Harvey

PinkNews founder Benjamin Cohen recently reflected on the importance of coverage on personalities such as Harvey, saying that by making the comments they do, they actually do a service to the LGBT community.

Update 03/01/2014 19:10: PinkNews  updated this story to reflect the fact that this book was removed from sale by its publisher, not by Amazon. The story was updated accordingly and a statement from Amazon included.
