A new initiative has been launched in the US state of Tennessee to encourage businesses to support the LGBT community.

The initiative was launched by the Tennessee Equality Project and encourages small business owners to display stickers showing they do not discriminate based on sexual orientation or gender identity.

The stickers display the tagline “Equality Means Business”.

The group’s Executive Director Christopher Sanders told the Associated Press that the stickers showed that businesses were serious about standing up against discrimination.

A list of businesses which sign up to the scheme will also be displayed on the group’s Facebook page.
