NFL player Aaron Rodgers has publicly denied being gay following much speculation around his sexual orientation.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback spoke in a radio interview after much speculation about his sexuality in the media.

Websites TheFameDriven.com and PerezHilton.com contained reports quoting an anonymous source who said Rodgers had been in a relationship with his personal assistant Kevin Lanflisi.

“I’m just going to say I’m not gay,” Rodgers said on 540 AM ESPN Radio in the US state of Wisconsin.

“I really, really like women. That’s all I can really say about that.”

He continued: “There isn’t a whole lot of separation from your public and private life.

“You always have to be on at times. Occasionally, people will get upset if you say ‘no’ to a picture when you’re eating dinner or something. That’s kind of the hard part. Or if you get crazy rumors that swirl around you from time to time that are just silly.”

The Green Bay Packers will pay the San Francisco 49ers in the wildcard round of the NFL playoffs.
