  1. Not good enough. Someone needs to lose their job for this. People need a clear message that ignorance and any form of discrimination will NOT be tolerated.

Just like that white woman who recently tweeted about how she won’t catch HIV due to her skin colour.

    1. If that’s the case, why don’t people lose their jobs for writing jokes about thin people, fat people, short people or stupid people? All are forms of discrimination, whether you like it or not. But for some reason, some ridicule seems more acceptable than others, these days.

      1. People don’t get abused, mentally and physically for being thin or short. I don’t think the suicide rate is quite so high among them as it is among the transgendered.

        1. People get abused for all kinds of excuses, including being thin and short.

Transgender people have it worse though.

          1. They have it so much worse, your comparison is the same as comparing the stress endured by people playing paintball and those who were in WW II. It shows that you’re a callous white cis whose main complaint in life is the trauma you felt when someone in highschool called you a short arse.

This probably means the trans barmaid gets cut from the scene entirely :P

  3. Thank God this transgenic scene was taken out, well spotted!
I hope they see sense and put a positive scene in with a Trans* person.

How often are transexuals put in TV shows and made out to be hookers or psychos? Not good enough.

No- Lets just encourage Emmerdale to do the right thing. Explore it from different
points of view but show the right way through.

    Best Emmerdale

  6. If it’s true it’s completely by chance that that scene was there, why did they hire a transgender actress in the first place? Don’t tell me it was by chance because really, the casting director sees no difference between transgender actress and non-transgender actresses: It’s proven wrong by that very anecdote. So if the whole point of her being there wasn’t that HILARIOUS joke, what was it then?

  7. Big error, this is not the 90s ,coronation street style of dealing with trans issues

  8. I agree to fire the bigoted, transphobic writer who put this in. They can find a new job at Fox So Called News where Santa is white.
