RIP Lexi what can words say? Sorry
I hope her family and friends are comforted and that good comes out of this tragedy. Bullying must be tackled in every school regardless of religion or ownership and needs state support, guidance and reinforcement. All civilised countries must allow their citizens to live as they are and parents need to accept that some people are different instead of trying to force kids into what they want.

Not that long ago left handed kids had their left hand tied behind their backs to force them to use their right hand to write. Not done today. Society learned.

14 and bullied. Please Parents teach your children that to be a bit different is great and we do not have to put people into boxes. We are individuals first and then come together for society

    1. Well said, can’t add anything except my heart feels heavy and I feel a sense of outrage. RIP Lexi.

  2. Another innocent child lost to bullying, when will the authorities ever learn. Good night my sweet angle, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. So much anger inside me right now its enough to make me want to be sick. I hope Lexi is now at peace xxxx

I have few words. Agree with Colin ! ( Politicians are to blame- churches are to blame-parents are to blame. Religions are to blame. Schools are to blame. Everywhere in Our World.) The majority defines minorities- and attack “the others”,the unwanted human beings. Attack underprivileged groups; other peoples “weakness”. That is the essence of Fascism. ( In Russia one out of five LGBTQ youngsters have attempted suicide.) Please, UN, DO MORE !

Are you really serious to post a solicitation amidst comments about a teen’s suicide? Just what the hell is wrong with you?????? RosemaryCGonzalez? Why don’t you go solicit your stupidity somewhere else. How insensitive, the world definitely needs less people like YOU!!!!

  5. This really is terrible, it’s terrible when any child chooses to end their own life.

It might not be fair to place blame right now, but it makes me angry that the school is seemingly ignoring their previous responsibilities and their subsequent disastrous failure to act. I do not buy for one second that the school was not aware of bullying. Teachers see this in their classrooms every day, these kids interact for hours Mon to Fri, someone at that school knows she was being bullied and they did nothing about it.

    R.I.P Lexi.

My heart is broken again, this child did not need to suffer because of ignorance. She was a brave soul to be herself. My own pre teen daughter is sitting next to me and I cannot imagine this happening to her, I am a transwoman, I know very well what that means, we mourn, we pray, we cry

  7. I get the impression that Lexi was genderqueer or FtM, not a trans girl. The articles I’ve read can’t even decide how to properly gender Lexi and if Lexi was FtM or GQ it sucks to watch them get misgendered all over the net.

The school officials are lying to protect their own asses. They knew there were problems and refused to do anything about them. Why do we have to read that student groups at the school want to try to do something about bullying, and that outside therapists want to talk to the students about suicide, but from school officials, only denials that there was even a problem, and no commitment to doing anything about the bullying problem. If Education Secretary Arne Duncan would enforce the laws and start putting negligent school officials behind bars for refusing to protect students, things would start to change.

  9. Landon is a boy’s name. If this person identified as trans and preferred to be called Landon then it’s not appropriate to keep referring to them as a girl. Please update the pronouns in the article to reflect this.
