Blimey, I liked the boy, but Tom Daley has become a ‘gay icon’ awfully quickly–rather like the ‘fast-track’ to sainthood at the Vatican!

I like the boy, but, blimey, Tom Daley’s become a ‘gay icon’ rather quickly. Reminds me of the Vatican ‘fast track’ for sainthood. Rush, rush, rush!

  4. “The gay community in Russia is currently facing the most punitive treatment at the hands of the authorities.”

Well, no. I’m the first to condemn their vile law… but the MOST punitive treatment is execution – as happens in at least 7 countries.

    Hyperbole helps nobody.

I can’t see the original article, since Facebook links straight to the comments page, but “most” in this context surely means “extremely”, as in “murder, most foul” – doesn’t mean the most foul murder ever, or “this is most delicious”.

  5. Putin is sore he wasn’t included as a one of the gay icon dolls himself.

I sort of sniggered at the thought of Putin receiving the dolls. One of those visuals..lol
Well done to the cheeky chappies at the Kaleidoscope Trust.

This is a serious topic..very serious but kind of still sniggering internally at their daring and internal energy. Well done and sends a great message out there.
