  1. What a load of rubbish! Its Homophobia that’s the ‘Imported disease’ The anti gay legislation in India dates from the Raj and has nothing to do with Hinduism but everything to do with the Christian rulers of India in the late 19th century.

  2. What does a Hindu?

    Lay eggs!

  3. Bigotry comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Such a shame it’s from a Hindu.
The only thing that’s been imported here is the anti-gay law. I don’t see VHP going loopy over that.

  4. The “English disease” referred to by the French in the 18 and 19 th centurys was their fervantly (manicial) censorious attitude to those who preferred their own sex who were harming no one.
The English introduced homophobia to the Indian sub-continent, Even the mogol (moslem) rulers who had invaded India before the British, in the main had a live and let live attitude to the Hindu population in their religion and life. They were only concerned with sedition and revolt. Homosexual liasons were common if discrete and widely engaged in, as is the case in all societies which restrict the acess to women. Even moslem ones. As for Hindu society, India is the country where the Kama Sutra came from!
This delusional fool does not know his history and the influences that lead to the present day, it would be surprising if the British influence did not distort indigineous religion for some, who use the colonail period influence to promote their own prejudice and ignorance. That does not excuse it.

  5. Sorry – you’re wrong. Religion is the imported disease.

  6. And to think we’re all born with a sexuality – whatever that may be. Yet none are born with religion, and despite that many religions see themselves as being ‘natural’ and sexuality unnatural. What a strange depressing world in which we live

Oh, look! The Hindus have a Taliban, too! Buddhists, it’s your turn…

    1. Every cult has its nutters. Many Buddhists in Burma and Sri Lankan haven’t been behaving in a particularly “Buddhist” manner of late.

Hinduism may be preferred to Islam and Christianity in the gay world but it is far from perfect. Hinduism is responsible for the caste system that discriminates against certain sections of society because of who they are born to. Not only that Hinduism also has arranged marriages.

  9. Religions may be different (and Hinduism, being polytheistic, shouldn’t really resemble Islam and Judeo-Christianity all that much), but thanks to the VHP for proving that extremist bigotry is every bit as stupid and ignorant in India as it is anywhere else. They must be so proud.

that such ignorant people grasp at power – or a good political move to create scapegoats!

China, India, Japan etc all had civilised attitudes to gay people before the Europeans and their missionaries arrived – what happened was that the colonial powers damaged traditional Indian custom

If the west use language like that against Africa or India etc we’d be accused of racism.

    So whats the difference?

It’s racism, it’s the nastiest homophobia… and all because a few pathetic dirty minded egos cannot think about anything else other than sex.

    1. As it’s Xmas, how about a new TV advertising campaign ….?
“Homophobia – the game for bigots, everywhere”.

  12. These hindus should look at some of their erotic carvings. But then again, those hindus just follow what their ignorant (corrupt) guru speaks without questioning it. Best thing to do is expose and jail the two faced gurus who 99% will have some form of scandal like rape, sexual exploitation, money laundering, claims of abilities etc and take a trip to their ancient hindu temples and see what it was like before the victorian ”values” were forced on them.
