    I never thought this woman should be in the job she is in. She didn’t vote for equal marriage in spite of what she said to the contrary. Even with the quadruple lock and air-tight guarantees that no denomination would be compelled to participate or could be sued successfully, she still didn’t vote for the bill.

    1. I couldn’t agree more, Robert.

      What’s next? Pope Frankie lecturing us on kiddies’ welfare?

      1. Robert in S. Kensington 5 Dec 2013, 5:28pm

        She’s a hypocrite and isn’t fit to deliver speeches on LGBT rights whatsoever. Completely out of touch and unfit to hold any position in this regard.

  2. Are they joking.

    Warsi is a homophobe.

    This is basically a slap in the face to the LGBT community,.

    And isn’t she sitting in the unelected House of Lords – she has no mandate to have a ministerial position.

      Given that you have said that both Ben Cohen and Ben Summerskill are homophobes, your words are losing their currency.

      1. Benjamin Cohen 6 Dec 2013, 2:01pm

        I’m a homophobe or the other one?

        1. de Villiers 6 Dec 2013, 2:21pm

          In the parallel world of Steve C, you are a homophobe.

  3. The supporter of section 28 who gave out pamphlets saying we were a threat to school children is now qualified to talk about LGBT rights?!

    How can this nasty homophobic bigot be the one they chose?

  4. I hope her presence is protested.

    These homophobic bigots like ‘Baroness’ Warsi need to understand that their hatred of LGBT people will not go unnoticed.

    Wow she will be giving this one through gritted teeth. She is such a ridiculous religious apologist who would like to see religious organisations and individuals given an exemption from any equality legislation relating to protecting LGBT people from discrimination.

    I dont think she is qualified to lecture anybody about anything let alone LGBT rights….anything the ‘faith communities’ are against she will support them….hardly un-biased then

  7. Baroness Warsi…get away!

  8. Exactly HOW did this hideous bigot Warsi get this gig?

    She thinks LGBT people are 2nd class citizens are secondary to the sensitivities of religious groups.

    If the government asked her to do this speech then clearly the Tories are the same hateful monsters they have always been (and just look at the number of Tory MPs who voted against equality).,

    If she was independently invited to give this speech then we need to inforn the organisers what a hate-filled bigot Warsi is.

    1. I believe the reason is: how more politically correct can you get than appointing a muslim woman from Pakistan?

  9. Why is an anti human rights bigot being asked to give a lecture on world human rights day?

  10. Just when you thought satire was dead…

  11. I think this could be a rather wonderful skewering of the noble lady. Can’t wait to see how this pans out.

  12. I think this could turn out to be a rather wonderful skewering of the noble lady. Can’t wait to see how this pans out

  13. This woman should be removed from her position.
    It is a farce that this person who abides by an ideology that is the least respectful of human rights should speak out about just that.
    This is so unreal it is just not funny any more.
    What the hell has gone so wrong? We have an Islamic equality minister that can NOT vote for equality because of her made up sky-fairy.
    And now she will tell us about equality? She is only concerned for the religious, not the LGBT people. She only answers to her god … that is what she only cares for, because in the end: she believes she wants sure she has a place in her heaven.
    The woman is a traitor.
    And I can not believe that the gay media and other gay organisations have not yet asked for her to be removed.

  14. Is this a misprint ? Did I hibernate through the winter and its April 1st.? no……

    Is Warsi for or against human rights?
    I always thought she didn’t understand the concept -

    It will be absolutely fascinating to observe the words that will come out of her mouth.

  16. de Villiers 5 Dec 2013, 10:48pm

    I am happy to see that the event is sponsored by BNP Paribas.
    .
    Recall yourselves that BNP Paribas:
    - Went through the crunch-credit mostly unaffected;
    - Has one of the highest credit ratings in its sector;
    - Is the fourth-largest bank in the world;
    - Has a major investment banking operation in London.

  17. It will be interesting to hear the content of the speech. No doubt she will have to tow the party line and so may be forced to say things her innate bigotry finds unpalatable. In vulgar parlance this would be called eating sh!t.

  18. GulliverUK 10 Dec 2013, 5:38pm

    Oh please! Pass the sickbag. This disgusting human being doesn’t know the first thing about us.

    1. Whatever gully
