The New Zealand Defence Force has recorded an It Gets Better video.

It is believed to be the first military in the world to have done so.

The NZ Defence Force is made up of close to 14,000 men and women including Regular Force, Reserve Force, and civilian staff members across the armed services of Navy, Army and Air Force.

The force says its ranks are made up broadly by a representation of society, and that it recorded the video in recognition of diversity as a strength. The NZ Defence Force said it is committed to supporting its people in order for them to perform at peak..

OverWatch is a group that provides support and guidance to the NZ Defence Force’s GLBTI community – as well as to their commanders and managers, families, friends and colleagues.
