It has to start somewhere. Imagine if they had refused to make a cake for a person who was divorced, Black.Jewish? People need to learn not to judge other because they are a little different. A god fine should do the trick.

I agree with you – but why would a gay couple ever want such a person to make them a cake? Why force someone to do something for you like making a cake for an important celebration when you know that they do not want to do it. I would rather pay a person who would be happy to do it.

      1. de Villiers-you dont get it-they dont want them to make a cake-this is for the next gay couple, the next interracial couple, the next Jewish couple…the couple in question did go to another bakery..

Don’t patronise me Normandy. There’s nothing you said in your response that I did not know.

      2. I think I know what you mean, de Villiers, but there’s nothing to say the couple in question knew of this person’s unofficial policy before they went there – maybe it was just known to be the best such shop in their neighbourhood.

Once rebuffed, I don’t see any problem with making it an issue, especially since I seriously doubt the Bible includes any rules, or even guidelines, about whom to bake cakes for.

I agree. If it is something as the best shop and it refuses – I see no difficulty in anyone making an issue of it. But I am cautious about trying to find such places in order to bring a complaint.
