  1. We should also ask an official position from the EU before the referendum.

    1. The EC said that they have nothing to say about it.

  2. Difficult to expect much from the EU as issues of marriage and family law are outside the EU competences and EU has never commented on marriage/civil partnership issues in any of its Member States. EU is not an independent most progressive body, its a collective of our own countries which agreed on a particular number of competences for the EU institutions to ac and family law is for the countries themselves and not for the EU institution….

  3. Croatia is a dump for allowing this to be put to a vote.

    As is Ireland.

If either country votes in favour of apartheid then they need to be expelled from the EU

  4. The pedition calls for a life-long union between a man and a woman?

…they want to ban divorces? =P

    1. No. Bad translation I guess (probably intentional though ^^). Only as a union between a man and a woman, nothing life-long mentioned at all. Basically what it is already defined by law, only making it constitutional. Very unfortunate referendum for us, I’m still hoping it won’t pass, even though it probably will, but I still think it is going to be fairly close (a max. of 60:40).
