Owner of G-A-Y group Jeremy Joseph has recorded a video along with a well-known London sexual health clinic to raise awareness of how quick and easy it can be to have an HIV test.

The video, featuring Mr Joseph, shows him getting a 1 minute HIV test at 56 Dean Street, HIV and sexual health clinic.

Speaking to PinkNews, he said: “There is so much coverage around the importance of knowing your status but I wanted to show how simple and quick an HIV Test is. If people can see how little time it takes & how easy it is, it may encourage them to go and get tested. If this encourages just one person who’s never been tested before to get tested, then there is no better reason for having made the video.”

Following on from the success of last year’s event at G-A-Y bar where 745 people were tested for HIV in eight hours (a world record), HIV testing will again take place at G-A-Y on World Aids Day.

Mr Joseph has said he will generously donate £10 per test done at G-A-Y to the Elton John AIDS Foundation
