I’ve heard it all now, a ‘perverted handshake’ of all things. Another backward society with a large infestation of religion. Deadly!

  2. During my years living in the Middle East I often observed Muslim men, particularly younger ones, judging each other as to sexuality. The fact was that almost any Arab man who is not married and cannot “get at” a female is willing to have sex with another man provided the other man is prepared to be the passive partner. Because of this I noted that most Arab men were always judging each other, seeking to detect those who liked having sex with men a “bit too much”, a bit more than they themselves did.

It was all a way of dealing with their own guilt. Rather like, “HE’S far worse than me!” Hence the bullying.

Interesting observation, Eddy. There is also a great deal of truth in the addage that the most vocal and obsessive in opposition to same-sex attraction are the ones most likely to be gay or bisexual themselves. Nobody could pay me enough money to set foot in any of those countries.

  3. Have these people got nothing better to do with their lives than obsess about gay sex? Very weird if you ask me …. and DEEPLY suspect. Homophobia is driven by the suppression of same-sex attraction. The bigger the homophobe, the bigger the self-hater. So I think we’ve all got THIS lots number …..

I’ve had many people shake my hand in that way over the years, normally those of a certain age, ex-police, businessmen, etc. I’ve always assumed it was a freemasonry thing.

Are you telling me now they were ALL coming onto me?

    1. Oh God yes, that deeply tiresome “Are-you-a-poof-too?” secret handshake, now – I hope – to be found in no-one under the age of 85.

But I think, on the whole, it was a we’re-in-this-together signal, rather than an I-fancy-you one.

Some people think that Dubai is the dog’s wotsits because of it’s location between the West and the Far East and some deluded people such as David Beckham have even brought homes out there in the belief that the grass is greener on that side of the fence. The reality is that Dubai is subject to Sharia Law and is nothing more than the a**e end of the Arab World and is best given a wide berth. Anybody travelling to the far side of the world would be better off flying westwards and stopping over say in San Francisco which is far more gay-friendly than Dubai. Don’t catch fire, Dubai because our firemen won’t come running!

  6. Fly Emirates you say?
