“According to Occupy Belgorod, the student was expelled from Shukhov State Technological University following the incident.”

Who was expelled from the University? the perpetrator or the victim?

    1. UglyGeezer 7 Nov 2013, 10:24am

It is poorly written in that respect.

    2. Given that it’s the perpetrator who’s bragging about it, I’d say it’s the victim.

I presume the South Afric embassy has been alerted, and that an appropriate diplomatic response will be made.

    1. BlokeToys 6 Nov 2013, 9:49pm

I very much doubt it, South Africa is another homophobic country with plenty of extremist bigots in positions of power. They wouldn’t want to help out in this case, even if it is one of their own young nationals.

      1. Bollocks. Sure, some South African leaders aren’t exceedingly gay-friendly, but they wouldn’t condone anything like this. Now, whether the SA government actually does anything substantial is not certain; for political reasons they may well not want to cause trouble with Russia. It’s not clear if the SA authorities have even been informed of this; it has’t really appeared outside of the gaysphere on the Internet.

Thinking of studying at a Russian university?

    Think again.

  4. Boycott Russian goods and don’t go there. Simples!

  5. I hope the Russian MP’s that have inspired this monstrous behaviour realise they are to blame for this neo-nazi bigotry. I imagine they don’t care, they’re so sick, I’m sure some of them actually get off on the videos.

    1. Specifically it was wanna-be priest Vitaly Milonov who drafted and pushed the anti-gay bill through, he is responsible for what is happening.

    2. BlokeToys 6 Nov 2013, 9:53pm

You can bet that many of them are Nazi’s themselves and probably fund many of these gangs as their own goon squads.

We’ve seen men in uniform attacking LGBT people in Russia, so the fact that none of these criminals can be tracked down and punished given that they show their faces, and are involved in the military and police, proves that they are being supported by the government.

There is no excuse for these people to not be arrested and charged, the fact that they are not proves that they have the support of politicians.

    What a sh*thole of a country.

  7. If this is what they have video of, imagine all the insane amount of violence that happens and is not video tapped.

Kennedy should have cleaned this up in 1962 or better still, General Patton in 1945 (who was rumored to be about to try, when he was killed suddenly, by a truck)

  8. No surprise there. Had a Russian friend who is banished from there , tell me that she fortunately had her father in the police force there, who had to provide an armed escort for an African student who met her at a restaurant as crowds had gathered outside to kill him for daring to meet a white Russian woman.
Anyhow, the olympics are still going ahead and still countries refuse to boycott the shambles.

    1. Those who support Socchi. Teh IOC olympic sponsors Coca Cola and McDomalds should be bycotted. Why should we allow our pink money to suppoert Homophobia?

    2. We should Boycott Coca-Cola and Mc Donalds They are sponsors of the Socchi Olypmics. Why should Gay people’s money be used to support homophibia

      1. Yes definitely, although I don’t drink that brand nor do I ever eat in mcdonalds or know anyone who does, but I will boycott any Russian goods I come across or associated with this spectacle.

  9. That There Other David 6 Nov 2013, 9:24pm

This sort of crap was inevitable. That’s what all these world leaders and organisations don’t realise when they look the other way about the epidemic of Russian homophobia. The bigots are now feeling bolder, so the racism is coming out. Then will come a new wave of anti-Semitism, and probably a massacre or terrorist incident aimed at minorities.

And then all the world leaders and organisations will cry and wail and make out that they gave a toss all along. When they do, remind them repeatedly that they were warned and did nothing.

    1. BlokeToys 6 Nov 2013, 9:58pm

      Exactly this.
People have not learned from history. Putin is using the exact same methods as Hitler to create ultra-nationalism, in an attempt to distract from massive government ineptitude and corruption. The idiot masses are falling for it.

This is nothing more than creating an enemy within to distract the public anger from where it should be directed.

Those who have a clue know where this is all leading. Nationalism like this spirals out of control, and before you know it there are hate crimes all over the country, gulags being built, mass murder, war…

It happened in Nazi Germany, and it’s happened in numerous countries where nationalism was used to unify a people, and then could not be stopped.

Russia really is a ticking time bomb.

  10. So this law was brought in to protect minors? Well this sickening action proves that the law is truly an ass!

  11. Surely these neo-nazi scum are guilty of violating the very “gay propaganda” law they hide behind since they’re the ones who posted the online ad for gay sex themselves. Not that they would ever be charged with that or any other offence, fine upstanding Russian citizens that they are. There are no words adequate to express the sorrow I feel for the victims of these crimes … and there seem to be more every day. It is absolutely clear to me that Russia is headed in exactly the same direction as Hitler’s Germany. How is it possible that our collective psyche is so blind ?!?!

  12. Frank Boulton 7 Nov 2013, 10:42am

This isn’t the beginning of Nazi racism in Russia. Putin has for a long vilified Georgians. Let’s not forget the 2008 Russo-Georgian War (a term which belies the fact that Putin’s Russia was the sole aggressor in this conflict). There is a growing body of evidence that all Russian residents, who do not look typically Slavonic are liable to racist violence.

I wonder if the name “Occupy Belgorod” was deliberately chosen by these thugs. The name Belgorod literally means “White city.” They’re laughing at the rest of the world. They’re deliberately rubbing our faces in it and no one dares to stand against them.

    1. Although Russia’s zeal in retaliating during the war towards Tbilisi was indefensible, to call Russia the sole aggressor isn’t accurate. When a government is as unsympathetic as Russia’s it’s all too easy to always side with their enemy, but the Georgian government was far from without blame for what happened in South Ossetia.

  13. The boy looks only about 10-12. So heartbreaking. :-(

  14. A pleasant piece of news, another life ruined

Jesus, the scum that lurks out there.

I think the fact they’re clearly so proud of themselves is doubly disgusting.

  15. They say the anti-gay laws are just to block gay people from promoting homosexuality which is a total lie. The Russian government won’t even investigate or prosecute these abusive and murderous groups when they are advertising their crimes.
The laws are a way to ignore any human rights of the gay community.
    Boycott anything Russian!!!

  16. This is SO awful, my own hatred of the Russian ‘authorities’, my own government and the huge companies that do nothing to protect these human beings gets stronger every time I see or hear another incident and that’s only the ones that are reported.
These people are persecuted for things that they cannot change be that sexuality, gender expression, skin colour and it is sickening because its like we are powerless and have to sit by why people with the influence and power choose to turn away.
When is Russia going to get a wake up call?
